New Line: How about SHOGUN ASSASSIN?

Dang. Anyone know who owns the rights to it now? I'm going to be picking up the original films on DVD, but SHOGUN ASSASSIN is a lot of fun. The Diagoro narration, and score are great. I watch SHOGUN ASSASSIN, and the original BABY CART films for completely different reasons. Jeff

New Line: How about SHOGUN ASSASSIN?

This film needs a region 1 release. Badly. Jeff

    Battle Royale/HK DVD's

The HK DVD is a Region 3 disc. There's a VCD which isn't the best quality, but since VCDs aren't region coded, you could watch that. I liked parts of the film. Not crazy about it as a whole though. Certainly get some Kurosawa films though. I'd start off with SEVEN SAMURAI, and HIGH AND...

    The Relecting Skin

So let me start it. Anchor Bay, put out THE REFLECTING SKIN. It's a great film, and deserves a quality presentation. Jeff

Freddy Got Fingered - Lots of Features - Atrocious Movie

Obviously in the minority, I loved FREDDY GOT FINGERED. It's one of the funniest films released in the last few years. I can see it not being everyones cup of joe, but I don't understand how it can be so universally hated. Oh well. I'm anxiously awaiting the disc. It's got Rip Torn on the...

    M*A*S*H Laughter Free Track

I think that the difference between DREAM ON with a live studio audience laugh track, and no laugh track, would be small. Jeff

Any word on Princess and the Warrior?

Michael, Who's the distributor in Montreal? The distributor who puts out Sony Picture Classics' films here in Canada, went bankrupt earlier this year, so I thought there'd be no chance of seeing it until DVD. Jeff

Memento: Best Film of the Year

MEMENTO bored me. Too much repetition of footage. It underestimated its audience, and that annoyed me. Not much going for it other than its structure, either. Not to say that any of the performances were bad. They just weren't great. The best two films I've seen this year are MOULIN ROUGE...
