Here's what the director had to say: Was Psycho IV shot in full-screen or in widescreen? We shot it full-screen, but protected for widescreen because we hoped there was a chance for limited theatrical release in the US, and planned for some theatrical in Europe and other territories. I see...
David VP, here's what I've noticed about labeling in the US: It used to be "Closed caption/subtitles for the deaf", then it was "Closed caption/subtitles for the hearing-impaired" and now it's "Closed caption/subtitles". Maybe the studios are afraid people might be offended by words like "deaf"...
David VP, the earliest I can remember seeing SDH was on the Brazilian discs of the Classic Monster Collection, about two years ago. Since they don't use closed captions, I've noticed the subtitles on other region DVD's tend to be more descriptive than region 1 subs. On the region 1 Hulk DVD...
Dick's First Birthday: Is that the episode where the Coach is the one teaching the boys about sex ed and Tommy says something like, "Can't we at least get someone who's had sex (to teach it)?" Then there's a part where Sally's in front of the class and is asked to explain how to unhook a bra, or...
There is an uncut widescreen release from Japan. Xploitedcinema.com had it for $40 along with a description of what footage the Japan disc has that the US disc doesn't. I can't find that title at Xploited now, but CDJapan has it. If the cover of the Japanese release looks familiar to you, you...
You can also search at http://www.copyright.gov/records/ to find out who owns a film (and other works). It won't necessarily tell you if the registered owner has a distribution deal with another company, but at least you'll know where to start.
Several years ago, Anchor Bay (USA) released Hellraiser 1 and 2 at 1.85:1 and enhanced. In 2004, Anchor Bay (UK) released Hellraiser 1 and 2 with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and enhanced. It would seem logical that since ABUK went out of their way to change the ratio, 1.78 might be more accurate...
drobbins, exactly how do you have the TVGuardian connected? It looks like you have the 201 model. I saw a few FAQ links at the TVG website mention that there are problems with Dolby Digital 5.1 and the 201 model. Have you had any? I just got a 5.1 receiver and am trying to figure out the best...
The Shriek Show and Blue Underground versions both have optional English subtitles available with all audio options. SS, for some reason, left that info off their package.
Maybe someone knows the answer to this question by now. I was looking at projectors Thursday and that's the one thing no one could tell me. Decoder circuitry (the pics I've seen) is fairly small and might fit in a projector. Cable TV boxes could have it. You can buy a CC decoder for about $100...
The only way I can get a big screen TV inside and upstairs is to turn it up on one side. Is there going to be a greater potential for internal damage? Anyone have any experience with that? Carrying one of those things up a flight of stairs almost puts it on its end anyway.
