Is there way to tell the RP-82 to play CDs through the analog rather than the digital outputs? I'm stumped. My RP-82 connects to an Integra 7.1. Though I have the analog cables connected to the DVD input as well as the digital coax, the analog inputs are not recognized. It just occurred to...
I just bought an RP82 because of its performance capabilities and bang for the buck. It replaces an old low end Toshiba non-progressive scan player. The picture of the RP82 is excellent on my Sony 61HS10 RPTV, but ya know, the interlaced Tosh wasn't a heckava lot worse. While overall I...
I'm on my third SVS purchase, a pair of Plusses this time. In both cases my decision was painful, difficult to make up my mind. I had sold my 16-46 CS's and wanted the most impact, so I ordered 20-39CS+s. I also liked their smaller size -- let's face it those 46's are big. But I wanted the...
As I researched this auto power idea for my Samson, I discovered Adcom, Monster Power, and Panamax gear that surge=protected, applied filters to the power, and could turn your gear on and off in a sequenced fashion.
I thought it worth the expense to offer some protection to my equipment (which...
Bill,
Can you explain or refer me to somewhere that I can learn about the 2, 4, 8 divisibility you mentioned? I understand the concept of bass's long waves and these cancellations and standing waves that can develop, but I need to understand more of the nuts and bolts.
Thanks!
I checked out the Sears item. Unless I'm mistaken, it appears it has no automatic function -- you have to manually switch it on and off -- so it really wouldn't meet my requirement of applying power as the Receiver is turned on or off.
Chris,
Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for initially and a great price too. Since the BFD doesn't draw much current and the Samson has a delay when it turns on, my original plan was to run the BFD off one of my Receiver's switched outlets and Samson off this device. They'd both turn...
Thanks, Wayne.
You're a wealth of info. I've read many of your posts on EQing -- one of the reasons I just bought a BFD. Cured a major dip at 33-35Hz (for crying out loud!) and a major peak at 55Hz, plus a few lesser ones. Now I'm within a db or two across the board except for a gradual...
Thanks for the link to Klipsch, Achim, but I don't see anything there that relates to my question.
Could you please tell me where to look on that site in case I am missing something?
Wow, when I was returned to this subject after writing my reply, you had already answered my question...Thanks!
I'd like my Samson sub amp to switch on and off with my receiver, but I can't plug it into the receiver power outlets because of its power requirements.
Does anyone know of a device that would let me switch power from a separate outlet to the Samson based on the power going to it from the...

The box Tom is referring to is the little unit that will increase sub out voltage for receivers with impedence mismatches with the Samson, not a sub enclosure.
Oops, sorry Tom. You replied while I was writing mine.
Regarding the 1/4" plug going into the Samson, I found a cable today that may interest you.
I bought a BFD 1124 at Mars ("the musicians planet") today. Since the BetterCables cable would now be plugging into the BFD, I needed another cable with 1/4" plugs at both ends to go between the BFD...
Will,
I have PSB Stratus Minis, C5i and 10S. I got them through Ronny's Stereo and got a good price. They also sell some high end brands, which is how I found them in the first place. Talk to Ronny and bargain well.

I have two turntables to sell:
Bang & Olufsen Beogram 3400 - See picture (not mine but just like it) at Link Removed
I am the original owner. In excellent cosmetic condition. Needs a new power transformer to convert AC to DC (I think 12 volts, will...
I have a couple of CS+ on order. Problem is, after going through all the research on all the forums, corresponding with Ron and Tom, even having owned a pair of CS's, I placed my order...then doubts started to creep in about whether I have made the correct choice. This upgrade, for me, is for...
Yes, there is definitely a benefit to flattening the response in your room, and I intended to do that as well.
But my question is really about the effectiveness of a subsonic filter vs the bass limiter on my receiver in allowing the maximum SPL from my subs. For example, I've read in...
Considering an EQ for my subs...
I'm trying to determine which is a better approach to allow max SPL without bottoming:
- the Bass Limiter adjustment on my Integra DTR 7.1 which allows me to crank up the bass to the point of distortion or bottoming, then set the bass output limit at that...
Todd,
If you can find them, the discontinued Radio Shack 15-1994 has been very popular with HT users. It comes preprogrammed with quite a few devices but is also a learning remote. Though its instructions claim only 4 keys are for learning, you can actually program any key. It also handles...
I prefer fewer subdivisions. I enjoy opening the forum and seeing sometimes three pages of topics since the day before. I like to just skim the topics and check the ones that sound interesting. Conversely, when I open a specific topic area, there are usually less than a dozen new items for...
My SVS subs have been sold. Thanks!
