I apparently have exceeded the byte limit for a single thread with the new additions to the FAQ. So I have split it up into two parts. The second part of the FAQ now resides on Page 2 of the thread. The newest updates are a Powerpoint sketch of the backpanel of the RP91 and some controller codes...
Congrats Matt. I hope they took better care with this one than your first.
A helpful suggestion, you've got the right idea with the backlighting, bit it is a wee to high. Optimally it should be projecting from the just below your set up onto the back wall.
Will Sears take the camera back? :)...
No the 91 does not have "audio priority" although I have heard that by removing the 6ch cables from the back of it, this would force the player to output any DD5.1 or DTS tracks on the disc.
Until I can verify this, I would discount this as some DVD-A's have DD5.1 tracks in the DVD-V directory...

Don't SHOOT the messenger!

If it is a DVD-A disc, no. The current DVD-A format restricts digital transmission to 16b/48kHz.

Connect the digital-out of the DVD player to an outboard DAC, which is connected to the pre-amp's CD inputs. The pre-amp's L&R outs are connected to the L&R of the amp.
This should provide me with a pure signal for stereo...
