I am dismantling my 2ndary bedroom set-up and I would like to sell my mint/never abused Sherwood A965 for sale. This is a wonderful multi-channel amp and IMHO Underated/low profile product from Sherwood. I am in San Diego (zip-92122)- so prefer local pickup/delivery but I am willing to ship...
EDIT: SOLD! I have relocated to San Diego and have moved to an apartment(from a large house), so some of my 'home' theater must go... The dual 16-46CS+ was barely used in my bedroom as a part of my 2nd system. I am also offering the S1000 Amp. I am asking $1100 for the combo. Pick up...
Amazing & Minty SVS B4+ sub for sale! I am the second owner and I have barely used it since I was a travelling consultant. Now I have moved from home to an apartment, and this wonderful sub is packed condition! Almost new! In case you did not notice the header-it is $1700 for pick up. You...
One thing to watch out in Mits is that they do not offer DVI inputs. If you are purchasing a new set now, I highly recommend DVI connectivity-come fall/next year most of equipment will have DVI (esp DVD players/HD Receivers) Both Hitachi & Pioneer are better choices. If you watch lot of...
RM40s are maahvelous speakers..I own them :). The list is $4600 shipped (or if you want the ultimate:$5800 shipped with upgraded cap) but you can get a good discount from VMPS dealers.
If you are leaning towards VMPS let me know. You can read lot more from the VMPS website (also in designer's...
B&K307 is a damn fine receiver and I believe they have gotten over their quality snafus (which was in some of the earlier models).
Brett, you have a GREAT price for a new unit and please ensure that you are buying it from an authorized dealer(B&K is strict about not servicing unauthorized...
I think John brings out a very good point with his post.
Viewing area is important for different viewing habits. If a 60" 4:3 is equivalent to a 55" 16:9 and most of your viewing is in 4:3 it is logical to go for a 4:3 set. Its your personal preferences which will rule your choice and there is...
I spent quite sometime comparing all of the strech modes in the AV store and for me only Pioneer's (natural & wide) stood out. The rest (Tosh/Hitachi/Sony)were quite close with Tosh's TW1 slightly better. Cheers, Kishore
Don,
For HT I don't think you would find a big difference but for music (2 ch or multi-channel) the better quality of sound from LeAmps would definitely beat the Outlaw 770 :)
As far as connectivity goes, you should aim for shorter interconnects which means you have to place LeAmps close to...
I should also add Adire Audio's Dharman & VMPS Orig/larger sub(vmpsaudio.com) as another alternative :)
I donot think you will 'lose' by choosing any of these magnificent products mentioned in posts above- you will just have a smile plastered on your face when you hear them :)
Cheers,
Kishore
Ari,
If you have to use only ONE sub,and you like to play loud then I'd recommend CS+ (no brainer-and best value for $$)or if you want the baddest-go for the Ultra.
After you buy 1 CS+, and you want more you can always add more :D
Good luck and enjoy the bass!
Cheers,
Kishore
Corey,
You have plenty of choices (as seen by responses). Let us narrow it further...
a. What's your budget?
b. What will be your viewing preferences with this set? (HD/DVD/NTSC)
c. Do you like to tweak by yourself (convergence/play with settings)?
Most of the prevailing brands today look...
No hard and fast rules Brad-just your comfortable viewing distance :)
Seriously there have been estimated numbers like 2x screen ht, or stuff like that but individual viewing preferences may vary. Better the source- closer the viewing distance.
I had a 56" widescreen set and I used to watch it...
Brian,
I'd recommend Panny 47". This is a fine product and can be tweaked well enough to match equivalent Tosh or Mits or Elite product.
Check out www.advancedsystems.com price on Pana for $1500ish and go to Sears to pricematch :). If you apply for fresh Seards Card you MIGHT get 10% off too...
I think the 16-46 CS+ should extend well below the ultras and come close to ultra's sonic performance.
John has a great question here and I hope you folks out there who have got 46CS+ subs can tell us your experience.
Cheers,
Kishore
I think you have a tough choice since you have to choose lesser devil among other devils :D
Almost every set has issues..however I'd recommend Sony or Mits. I'd recommend the Tosh if you can return the set back in case you have a defective/poor set :)
The latest Mits sets can be tweaked to the...
I wonder if from 8 ft, the 540p upconversion is really noticeable-esp from a 57" set. Besides quality control issues, I still think 57HX81 is best value for money out there in the market. This set has a fine line doubler and has excellent strech modes.
After lots of reading and hunting, I'm...
Elbert,
Besides tuner, the XBr2 uses better lenses and has a unidirectional 1394 port compared to HW series. You can get 57xbr2 delivered for $4Kish from oadebros.com
Quite frankly, Sony has made a comeback with much better performing sets. The XBR2 gives pioneer elite a run for money imho &...
Tommy,
For HT, VTF-2 is no doubt a great value (jeffsoundvalues.com is now selling it for $425 delivered).
For more bada boom, if you can spend $600ish I'd recommend Adire Audio's Dharman (that is IF you can spend more)
EDIT: My first choice would be SVS Subs :) You can get a good deal on SVS...
