Has anyone heard whether they corrected this disc yet in Canada regarding the 5.1 soundtrack? I was expecting there be a thread regarding corrected versions and what code/serial number to look for on the packaging but I haven't seen anything yet.

Hi Chris, I think the single disc version you got was released after the 2 disc Platinum Series version, which studios have been known to do for a number of their titles (Fox more so it seems than other studios though). I would assume then that the single disc version you got is most likely not...

I vote for Gattaca. It's a movie I can watch over and over and still enjoy.

And Batman Begins will be among the first titles released on HD-DVD supposedly in the 4th quarter also.

I haven't seen any official releases yet but Amazon.ca and .com are reporting the release day to be August 23, 2005. No specifics but I can't see it being anything other than the Region 1 by Tartanfilms. But like their Region 1 releases of "Tale of Two Sisters" and "Samaritan Girl", I'm sure...

Any updates on whether new versions will be coming out in the near future? All I see are the 2 movies packaged together in their separate cases.

I'm absolutely dying for a new Kundun DVD. Having said that, I have seen a non-anamorphic transfer hold up to anamorphic transfers on my 50" LCD Sony. The one I'm referring to is Criterion's Armageddon.

I just received mine today. I sent away for the box the same day ROTK was released. They cashed my check just before Christmas. So if you haven't gotten yours yet, be patient as it looks like they are finally arriving.

Hi Justin, 1/2. It sounds like you are on a budget. Instead of getting the TV calibrated, I would save the couple of hundred and sink it into your new TV. Not to knock the ISF calibration at all but your TV out of the box and after doing your own calibrations should still look pretty damn good...
