I ended up returning the Target exclusive because the bonus disc sounded like it was severely edited (the sticker says "more than 29 minutes" and the actual PaleyFest panel was an hour... which is technically "more than 29 minutes", but I am assuming they meant "more than 29, less than 30") and...
Did you ever get anything yet? I've been waiting for about 9 months so far for a replacement box. They cancelled my first order for it (even though I told them not to) and created a new one. I have heard that some people did receive replacement boxes a couple of months ago. I'm not one of them.
They seemed to confuse the 1968 Filmation Batman question with the recent DC Heroes release... I wonder if they are even aware there is more Filmation Batman material out there...
The funniest thing about this whole situation is that the unaired pilot is anamorphic widescreen. There had to be a changing of the gaurd at WBHV. These Birds of Prey and Fastlane releases seem so out of character for a studio that used to actually care about quality releases. I get they...
The original release was anamorphic widescreen. Those sites must be either copying and pasting their old review or they aren't aware it was already released.
Look, this is a home theater forum. I think everyone is aware that we aren't solving world hunger by participating in threads about DVDs or HT equipment. If you're taking the "world has far more important issues" line, what are you doing in here posting? Seriously, the world has far more...
Yet, Smallville started in 2001. Guess what the DVDs are? Yep. Anamorphic widescreen. There were plenty of shows airing in anamorphic widescreen prior to the year Birds of Prey launched. It's safe to say that networks were thinking in terms of anamorphic widescreen. Heck, sitcoms were already...
I don't quite get that. How is it that they target the "anamorphic widescreen demographic" on almost every one of their other widescreen releases? I didn't even know there was actually a "non-anamorphic widescreen" demographic. You're not even talking the difference between full frame and...
When will WB ever release the Richard Grieco classic "If Looks Could Kill"? I'm surprised Disney hasn't tried cashing in on Patrick Dempsey's recent popularity and released "Run" in R1.
There is a reason for that. The ability to do something like this has been around for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time. If I wanted to pop a DVD into my DVD drive on my PC and ask a friend to do the same, we could chat back and forth over the movie all day long. Or even set up a call where we could talk...
I'm not sure where there is much of a question about what Paramount is going to do. In the recall notice, Paramount stated the packaging was in error, not the discs. I suppose they could change their minds down the road, but it seems pretty clear that if they are pointing the finger at erroneous...
I'm disappointed that Universal didn't include all of the supplements included on the 2-dsic DVD SE. I'd rather have the disc 2 glued onto the bottom of my HD-DVD than disc 1. Normally, I wouldn't care as much, but this was one of my favorite movies this year and I would actually watch the...
I wouldn't count on that. I would be shocked if it's anything more than one issue on the CD. Heck, I don't think they could even come close to fitting the whole thing on a CD.
I am still skeptical that this is actually going to be a 1080p transfer. All of the confirmation that I've seen is based on Midway saying that it "supports" all HD resolutions - including 1080p! That isn't very reassuring to me. I can stick a VHS tape in a VCR and plug it into a native 1080p...
I don't even know if it's the acting as much as the direction/writing. The people I found most distracting were Claudia Christian, Richard Biggs, and Jeff Conaway. As someone else mentioned, Andreas Katsulas and Peter Jurasik totally elevated that show for me. I liked Jerry Doyle quite alot...
I can say I was relieved not to have to hear any more of Haim's insane ideas for a Lost Boys sequel. Haha. That was hilarious. It actually sounded like he thought they could write a script, call up Schumacher, and then BAM! Green light! But, I could cry, too, knowing they are going to churn...
I was actually looking forward to this. I guess mainly because I thought they were making a show based on the comic strip/serials/80s movie and not just dumping character names into some atrocious mistake. I can't believe this ever got put on the air. The only appealing thing I can see for...
I really WANTED to get into B5.... and I tried. I watch 4.25 seasons of it. I definitely saw some good stuff in there, but, overall, didn't have much fun with it (well, I do recall liking season 3+4 quite alot). I thought half of the cast was great and half of the cast was awful. I found it to...
Not something I should be ashamed of, frankly. Your comment makes absolutely no sense. I was responding to someone claiming you could only load in 50 titles with the free version. Newsflash - they DO offer a free version, so if the developers don't have a problem with me using it, again, FOR...
No offense, but you're pretty misinformed when it comes to the pricing. I understand if you go buy Best Buy pricing and compare the SD-DVD to a Universal day-and-date combo, but it's easy enough to not buy HD-DVDs at Best Buy. How much is Flash Gordon going for on DVD this week? $16.99. Guess...
Awesome not-well-advertised deal at BestBuy.com if you want both Muppets sets. Both sets for $20 a piece if bought together online. I'm just hoping it's still active Tuesday morning so I can use in-store pickup... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....at127600050005
Joss has pretty much found sanctuary in comic books. Like Buffy, that's where Firefly/Serenity is going to be resurrected (although word is that the events in the comic series will take place prior to "Serenity").
Well, really, it wouldn't have mattered unless we have any Nielsen participants in this thread. It's just a flawed, antiquated system that is used to determine viewership for a show.
Although, with the way Fox handled the show, I doubt it would've mattered much anyway. Heck, they had a...
I think there were "corrected" copies out upon it's initial release. At least, not everyone experienced the chapter 21 problem. I did, took it back, and the exchanged copy didn't have the problem. That was all within the first week of release.
Going kinda off topic, but I wouldn't use the Die Hard example to decry the use of CG until you've seen it. There is some CG used, but Live Free or Die Hard is very much a "throwback" action film, in the sense that many of the stunts/set pieces are real. The action is over the top, as you...
The UK Season 1 set does not have the Peter Cetera opening theme, though. It uses the theme that was used on the pilot and later in syndication in the UK. All other music seems to be intact. Season 1 must not have sold too well in the UK - Season 2 has been on the release schedule, but...
