In alpabetical order; ACI(Audio Concepts International) Hsu Rockets SVS Velodyne Considering everything that's coming down the pike with each of these manufacturers, I'm betting that combined, they're gonna suck up over 80% of online sales. For sealed choices, you've got ACI, upcoming...
Hi Gang, I was just kind of wondering which would have better performance...the new Tumult in a 16" sealed cube with some kind of LT circuit perhaps and the 750 watt plate amp or the new SVS 25-31 PC+(500 watt BASH). Any ideas for this newbie? Randy ps-Hi Bri.
In case anybody's interested(I am), I just received an email from the Outlaws that stated that the torroids in the 770 are "slightly larger" than in the 755. Good to hear it and happy to pass it on. Except that when I posted the same info on their own website, they erased it. Hmmm...now I'm...
I'm looking at both the Outlaw 755 and 770 and making an assumption(perhaps incorrectly) that the torroids are the same size/va rating in both amps. The obvious question: If the two torroids are only sharing 2 and 3 channels respectively in the 755, and 3 and 4 channels in the 770, wouldn't it...

I'd take bets that once the word gets out to the "general" home theater population, the 25-31 PC Plus will quickly become SVS' best seller. What do ya'll think?
I'm mulling over the idea of getting a sub that only has a 0/180 switchable phase knob. Anybody know of an inexpensive box(~$100 or less) that will let me continuously vary the phase? You know...Processor sub-out > variable phase box > subwoofer input.
Thanks
I've been searching everywhere for the power ratings of the dual torroidal amps in the 770, but even Outlaw's website doesn't mention anything other than to say the 770 draws 1800 amps max. Does anybody know, or should I make an assumption that Outlaw isn't publishing that info for a reason...
>>ALL these units(upcoming pre-pros) will use 24/192 DACs. Why would you get a unit(referring to 24/96) that doesn't offer this obvious sonic advantage
I just saw a picture of this sub(no info, though) on audioreview.com's Cedia showcase. Does anybody know anything about it and how it might differ from the True Sub MKII version?
Thanks
I would deeply appreciate it if any of you folks might be able to guesstimate the performance differences between these two subs. Here are some specs:
Considering that both of these have the same external dimensions...
ACI Titan II LE
Sealed design
single 12" long-throw woof
closed feedback...
I recently came across this new sub while perusing the Monitor Audio website, and it certainly looks intriguing. Dual 12" "long throw" woofs, transmission style vent system, variable Q control, etc. It's the same size as the ACI TitanII, but over 50% heavier(costs twice as much, though). Prices...
I tried to get a sample vote about this a week or so ago, but it started to get too heated, so I'll try one last time: If you had to choose between a free Lexicon MC-1 or free upcoming Outlaw Audio 950, which would you choose?
Hopefully, not JUST Lexicon owners will respond, but also...
My humble opinion is yes. At best, these formats will be a very small niche product unless these goofs provide a straight digital path.
Even then, I'll note that I just attended a local audio society meeting where a *VERY* prominent, trusted and highly respected audio writer was not surprised...
Now that OutlawAudio has announced the feature set of the upcoming 950, I still have a question or two. Does anybody have any more specifics on "Crystal Extra Surround"??? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that "CES" will merely take a single mono rear channel and split it into two...
Anybody like to compare these?
Other than Logic7 and perhaps one or two more crossover points, any major differences in features or sound? Seeing as that the street value is pretty darned close, what would sway your decision either way?
I just checked their website(monitoraudio.com) and it appears they've come out with what looks to be a very impressive sub. Has anybody heard this bad boy yet? The adjustable Q looks like a pretty nice feature. Price is $2K though...
I was just kind of curious to know whether this pre/pro has any 7.1 proprietary surround mode ala Logic7 to get 7 channel surround from stereo sources. Any help?
Thanks
I was just reading on their website that they are going to have their own proprietary 6.1 surround mode for matrixed or stereo sources. Seems to me that they missed the boat by not having something to compete with Lexicon's Logic7, Cinepro's Music7, Thx Ultra 2, Meridian's 7-channel TriField...
I've tried any number of times to delete a post on a previous thread, but I keep getting 2 conflicting messages. One says that only forum leaders can delete a post, and the other says that either an administrator OR the original poster can delete. Any help?
After perusing the SVS site, it seems that the CS-Ultra only comes in the 20-39 tube. I'm wondering if either the 16-46 or 25-31 will be "ultra-fied", and if so, how much will they cost. Also, will any of the Ultras be powered? If there won't be any other Ultra models, why not? Thanks
