I've had my 53" Panasonic widescreen for about a year and a half now. Was used just for dvd up until about a week ago when I finally got HD via Dish Network. I've been to the panny.tv site and learned how to tweak my set. I've eyeballed my grayscale, fixed my geometry, fix my convergance...
I've been out of the home theater loop for damn near this entire year. My interest has started to peak again and I'm really wanting to buy an HD receiver. I have a 53" Panasonic Widescreen. No DVI/HDCP input. I have no idea what's out there. I'm looking in the $500-$600 price range. What's...
Michael, I've had the pop before. I used the screen pots to fix it last time and it worked great. Tried that this time and I couldn't find a happy medium with the green and blue. If I get my grayscale looking 'right' to my eye the blue will be green. If I get my blue to look blue it messes up...
Tv was doing great for awhile, no problems at all. Then all of a sudden I noticed something was very wrong. After throwing in Avia, it turns out my blues are now green. Checking the grayscale revealed nothing. Looked perfect. Only when looking at the color bars (and when watching movies...
Those are 6.5" Image Dynamics IDQ midbasses in the doors. Was going to try and do an AP enclosure for them, but not enough space, so IB they remain. I just educate my passengers about the kickpanels. Even with the snow we've had recently, I've had no problems. Just gotta be a little careful.
http://www.dbfanatics.com/forum/phot...mid=27&cid=171 Some pics of my 89 Ranger and a new box that I made. In the near future I'll be doing a 16 cube wall (after displacement) for 2 Digital Designs 9515s. 175 square inches of port, 35hz tune. Should be pretty wangin'.:D :D
I'd have to disagree and say to stay away from Kenwood amps. Also, Rockford amps are very high-priced. You can do a lot better for the money. If he's looking for a good component set for up front, I'd recommend Image Dynamics, or maybe some Digital Designs 6.5s paired with some Vifa tweets...
If he's gonna go even bigger, then a high-ouput alt is a must. When amps start starving for current, they can blow, and it's also not healthy for the car. A few months back I had two wires come loose on my alternator and ended up blowing an amp that way. Live and learn I guess.
Here's my equip. list at the moment: H/U: Panasonic CQ-DFX700U (2) JL 15w3s 10 cube ported box tuned to 32hz Sub amp: JBL 1200.1 Image Dynamics Chameleon Components 6.5 (2 ohm version) Mid/High amp: JBL 180.2 190 amp Iraggi Alt. Stinger wiring This is in an 89 Ford Ranger. I don't...
A high output alt is the best upgrade you can possibly make. It was for me. I went from a stock 60amp alt when I had my old system in (around 800 - 1k watts) to a 190 amp alt (around 2k watts, going bigger soon). Mine came from Dominick Iraggi, look him up on the www.termpro.com web board...
Geoff - I'm not exactly sure on a strand count. Could probably find the info online somewhere. My friends usually refer to it as a garden hose if that gives you an idea. :D
I just noticed that on my season 1 box. D'oh! Still pumped for season 2 though. 'Raging Bender' and 'Why Must I be a Crustacean in Love' are two of my favorite episodes.
Good idea, Jack. Never thought about that. I'll have to look into it. My original plan was just to get a cheap eMachines at Best Buy. I don't need anything great.
Fear Factory are the kings of bass in the metal world. I'd rank Cephalic Carnage up there too, deep booms that come out of nowhere.
"Punk" by Gorillaz goes down to 20hz. One of the most intense songs in my car system is "Re-Akshon (remix)" by Killer Mike. Holy mother of god. I could name rap...
I'm hoping for a Mavs win tonight. When they get in their groove, they're just so fun to watch. Dirk Nowitzki is the man. Is it just me or is the eastern conference incredibly boring?
I have a Dreamcast. You can use any dial-up ISP with it. I may end up using it, depending on how my net withdrawals go. It's just that it doesn't have the functionality that I like/want/need.
