Holy crap, I just found out about the price. I can go ahead and cross this one off my list. I thought we were past the days of ridiculously priced TV box sets. I guess I can always get a used one off ebay.
Anybody pick this up at Target? They're offering seven free music downloads with purchase, but I can't figure out where you're supposed to get them from. If they're iTunes I'd be interested. The ad in Sunday's paper and the packaging don't offer specifics, and I haven't been able to find out...
The U.S. version only has French and Spanish subs. The American version also shows English subs on the packaging. Also, anyone else disappointed that they changed the packaging again? I liked how the previous 2 seasons were packaged.
Someone needs to make a DVD cover for a standard 4-disc DVD case with the R2 artwork. That would look better and be more durable than what Fox is providing. I wish dvdcoverart.com was still operating.
I'm sure many of you know about the X-Files promotion that was going on at Best Buy - each season for $50 until July 4. Well, I work there and was surprised to see that the signs for the promotion were taken down, and that the sets are ringing up at their regular price. There was no...
I guess the best way to respond to this is to say I disagree with everything said in this post. :) Timesplitters 3 is awesome, and is definitely worth picking up, especially if you liked TS2.
They're building a time machine to travel back to the 60s and bring back a copy of the film to the present, untouched by the ravages of time. Either that or they decided it would be too expensive to restore and aren't going to bother with it.
I think so. For example, Banjo Pilot was recently released for Game Boy Advance by THQ, under license from Rare. Nintendo had no involvement with that game.
Not sure what you mean. First party in game industry terms relates to the hardware manufacturer themselves, so yes, Nintendo owns all the games Nintendo created. If you meant second parties (i.e. Rare), then Nintendo only owns the games that use their intellectual property. For example, Donkey...
Hi all, Best Buy Drone #1450694 here. It seems there's going to be some fairly significant changes to Best Buy's DVD floorplan, in order to give more space and attention to high-margin TV on DVD sets. I haven't seen the actual floorplans yet, just an overview of the changes that are going to...
Thanks for the tips. I just had it installed today, and I'm pretty impressed with the signal strength. At home, I have my XM boombox in a room with no windows on the north side of my house. Three bars of signal, no dropouts. Before I had the Skyfi2 properly installed in my car, I was driving for...
I'm planning on subscribing to XM and buying a SkyFi2 tomorrow, and I have a few questions about getting a signal where I live. I'm in a rural area, so there's no repeaters around. Will I have any problems getting a signal? I know it depends on many variables, but I was hoping someone would have...
Personally, I find this really insignificant. It's a theme song we've all heard a million times and that we're just going to fast forward over anyway, so what's the big deal? I guess some of you see this as a matter of principle, which I find absolutely insane (), but whatever floats your boat...
After looking at the disc a little more closely, it seems to have the trademark signs of layer separation (at least I think that's what the technical term is), where there's odd bits of glue around the center of the disc beneath the outer plastic layer. I took it back and exchanged it, and the...
On the episode Manchester Part II, there is heavy skipping and pixellization around the 18-22 minute mark, in a few places. I've played in in 3 DVD players, and the effects are all there, in varying degrees. I wonder if this is safe to return for a different disc, or if this is a widespread...
This is a must buy for me. I like Star Trek TNG, but not enough to spend $100+ for season sets. They've picked a great bunch of episodes, and this 2 disc set is definitely worth $17. Any word on a similar set focusing on Data or any of the other regulars?
The Simpsons Season One DVD set is worth it just for the short clip of what the first episode of the Simpsons looked like before they fixed it. If you thought the animation in the first season was bad, it was pure art compared to what it replaced. The commentary is priceless: "Oh My God...Oh...
Yeah, so I'm losing my hair. I'm planning on scheduling an appointment with my doctor to discuss Propecia, but I'm having a hard time determining how much this is going to cost. I've seen online prices ranging from $50 to $280 per month. I know that anytime you have this many guys on one message...

I work for a major retailer, and have on occasion intentionally broke street dates for certain releases. Mainly because I wanted to buy them myself :). Never on a major release (that's why I'm not watching The Return of the King right now), because that's just asking for trouble, both for myself...
This is by far my most anticipated TV on DVD release, and I'm not dissapointed. The video quality is most definitely NOT worse than VHS or VHS quality. Is it absolutely perfect? No, but for a 16 year old low budget sitcom, it doesn't look bad at all. Bring on Season Two and the rest of the...
I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure studios don't fine retailers for breaking the street date on every single title, or even check for most titles. The big name releases (i.e Lord of the Rings), where stores could potentially lose thousands of dollars is a competitor stocks a film...
This certainly served as a wake up call to me. I never considered how much money I have invested in DVDs. Just a rough estimate of 150 titles at $20 each is $3,000! My DVD collection is the most valuable thing I own, other than my car. I need to buy a new rack to hold my DVDs anyway, so I think...
