If your unit has THX Surround EX well then you really have no need for Dolby EX. I have never seen an THX Surround EX products that were less than 7.1 decoded channels. I may have seen some Dolby EX products with 7.1 but most were 6.1 from memory. I could be wrong... T.

Kenwood have a very cheap THX Select receiver with spring clips (yecchh!) VR6070 I believe. T.

NAD and Marantz both have had their QA issues. The T762 is a THX Ultra receiver a bit higher up than the 7200. I've also heard the T762 won't be out 'til next year. Up to you, both are nice. I would go with NAD simply because it is the better unit. T.

The 1055 costs less than the 1066. But it includes fully configurable amps + radio. Surely it can't be that much worse as a preamp than the 1066. T.
