    Pre-Order The 3-D Nudie-Cuties Collection (3D Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I finally updated my website with the process behind the design of this release, though it was all relatively straightforward! Check it out here.

    Pre-Order The 3-D Nudie-Cuties Collection (3D Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I had the privilege of designing this cover for Kino Lorber. Funny... I've been an HTF member since high school and now I get to design the occasional Blu-Ray release! There wasn't much to work with on this one though I managed to pull off a more complex solution that the producers liked but...

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY WITH CRITERION: We Invite Your Participation

Full name: Scott Saslow Question: what decisions go into extras, specifically when to carry over old extras vs. producing new ones...? (I suppose the shift from text- to video-based supplements plays a part in that.) Also: any chance of The Parallax View getting the Criterion treatment?

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Big Clock -- in Blu-ray

Thanks for the kind words!! It's funny... I don't post here as often as I used to, but I've been a member since I was in high school. I'm 36 now... life takes you funny places! As far as Arrow, I do have one more title in the hopper.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Big Clock -- in Blu-ray

This HTF member has had the good fortune of designing artwork for several Arrow Academy releases. I designed new artwork for this one but it couldn't be used for contractual reasons. Check it out here: https://scottsaslow.myportfolio.com/the-big-clock

UHD James Bond films in Ultra HD blu Ray?

Speaking of Bond art and menus, I actually temped at MGM 12 years ago, first in their legal department, and then in their records/archives department. They were still based in Century City and working with my roommate and another film geek in records/archives... well, it was pretty much like The...

    Criterion Wish Listing 2018

-The Parallax View -Black Sunday (Frankenheimer) -Catch 22 -Lolita (Kubrick) -Eyes Wide Shut -Crash (Cronenberg) -The Lady Eve -The Magnificent Ambersons Of course, my biggest goal is to design a title for Criterion! I've done four boxsets for Arrow Academy... Criterion is next on the list. :)

    Marketing Research for catalog titles

I don't know how the process works but what gets me is how a relatively recent title like The Ghost and the Darkness starring two name actors languishes while Olive gets to release something as random as Zapped! What market research goes into that decision? Or is it simply a matter of Olive...

Please Participate: Most Requested Paramount Titles

Unfortunately, I have to agree. They may have been receptive at one point but if the studio's reaction to Bill Hunt's recent Star Trek suggestions is any indication, then I doubt we'll be seeing any of these anytime soon. But I'd love to be wrong!

Star Trek films on Blu-Ray... what we know so far

The saddest part is that, just above the disappointing Trek news, you'll read about Arrow Video's deluxe Blu-Ray package of Bride of Re-Animator. So a small company can give the five-star treatment to a cult film, but a major studio won't do the same for one of their cash cows. (I know it's much...

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

I wonder if this is a title they would present in multiple aspect ratios à la On the Waterfront?

    Criterion Wish Listing 2016

It would be cool to see Cronenberg's Crash and Dead Ringers show up in the collection again. I guess Universal is working on them but I would have loved to see a "Marx Brothers at Paramount (1929-1933)" boxset! And The Parallax View and Ambersons, which were already mentioned above.

HTF EXCLUSIVE! Twilight Time Mar/April 2016 Release Announcements

I don't see Trek ever being licensed to a third party but Paramount has several titles that could benefit from a deal with TT: The President's Analyst, Black Sunday, The Parallax View, and many, many more!

Star Trek films on Blu-Ray... what we know so far

Has there even been any news from Paramount re: UHD? One gets the impression there's no one left in their home video department to turn off the light!

-their remaining Hitchcock titles (Suspicion, Stage Fright, The Wrong Man, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I Confess) -their Marx Brothers films (1935's A Night at the Opera through 1946's A Night in Casablanca) -Joe vs. the Volcano (with participation from John Patrick Shanley if possible) -The Witches...

Star Trek films on Blu-Ray... what we know so far

Hell, I wish MGM owned the Trek films so maybe they'd license them to another company altogether that would treat them right! :) (Paramount only seems to license titles to Criterion but MGM licenses to everyone.)

At Paramount Today: Here is what I found out

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought this Warner deal was only for a limited time. I assume it will be continuing for the foreseeable future? And with the latest releases like Team America and The Naked Gun sequels, can we look forward to dropped DVD extras?

! At Fox Studios with the Execs! Post Your Fox Questions Here and We Will Ask Away

Bummer, I discovered this thread too late! Nice to see them doing Independence Day in 4K... hopefully it'll include the Five-Star DVD extras. And if they're revisiting ID4, maybe they'll revisit Speed and Master and Commander with their respective 2-disc DVD extras. They missed the opportunity...

Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I believe Police Squad! would be CBS and they'd probably give the series better treatment than Paramount has given the films (see: Star Trek: TNG). The back covers for 2 1/2 and 33 1/3 are up on Amazon and it looks like WB hasn't carried over the trailers and DVD commentaries. The Blu-Ray for...

Breaking News: Paramount and Warner Bros. Announce Home Media Distribution Deal

Yeah, the titles that have been released are appeciated (and 90% of them have good-to-great A/V)... ...but it pales in comparison to, say, the rate at which Kino, Olive, and Shout! are distrubuting MGM titles, especially those of more recent years. I'm still waiting for the Naked Gun...

Munich, The Andromeda Strain, Sneakers - 2/17

For anyone in South Florida, the Boca Raton Best Buy has these in stock! I purchased Sneakers. I'm not really qualified to talk A/V details... ...but there's no main menu and the original DVD commentary is missing. HOWEVER, there's a new commentary with Phil Alden Robinson and director of...

    Star Trek: TMP Director's Cut

I'm in the same boat. Oddly, I never found the film boring, even watching it as a kid on cable (where the USA Network would expand it to as much as 3.5 hours with all the fat added back in). And I've said it elsewhere but, with the exception of Bones' disco-era civvies, the film has aged like a...

Criterion 2015 Speculation and Wish Listing

I've mentioned this elsewhere but, if they're working on more WB titles, it'd be cool to get Crash and Dead Ringers back in the collection, along with The Magnificent Ambersons. In addition to a Spartacus upgrade, I'd love to see some kind of Marx Brothers set - "The Paramount Years" or...
