Unfortunately, I have to agree. They may have been receptive at one point but if the studio's reaction to Bill Hunt's recent Star Trek suggestions is any indication, then I doubt we'll be seeing any of these anytime soon. But I'd love to be wrong!

It would be cool to see Cronenberg's Crash and Dead Ringers show up in the collection again. I guess Universal is working on them but I would have loved to see a "Marx Brothers at Paramount (1929-1933)" boxset! And The Parallax View and Ambersons, which were already mentioned above.

I don't see Trek ever being licensed to a third party but Paramount has several titles that could benefit from a deal with TT: The President's Analyst, Black Sunday, The Parallax View, and many, many more!

Has there even been any news from Paramount re: UHD? One gets the impression there's no one left in their home video department to turn off the light!

Hell, I wish MGM owned the Trek films so maybe they'd license them to another company altogether that would treat them right! :) (Paramount only seems to license titles to Criterion but MGM licenses to everyone.)

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought this Warner deal was only for a limited time. I assume it will be continuing for the foreseeable future? And with the latest releases like Team America and The Naked Gun sequels, can we look forward to dropped DVD extras?

Bummer, I discovered this thread too late! Nice to see them doing Independence Day in 4K... hopefully it'll include the Five-Star DVD extras. And if they're revisiting ID4, maybe they'll revisit Speed and Master and Commander with their respective 2-disc DVD extras. They missed the opportunity...
