I've met a few...no GW's on my list, but a few notables. Jack Welch (Former CEO/Chairmen of GE) Bunch of hockey players/coaches: Bryan Trottier (bought his house) Mark Messier Brian Leetch Eric Lindros Bobby Holik Alexei Kovalev Mike Dunham Rod Gilbert Anson Carter Petr Nedved...
Here's mine My Expedition in the photo is gone, but I still have the plate on the SUV I replaced it with. The story behind the "ITSWICKD" is in 1998 when Lexus first introduced the (redesigned) GS they went with a "Something Wicked This Way Comes" theme, so I thought it was fitting.
In March 2001, Consumer Reports rated the BowFlex Power Pro XTL, 5th out of 12 home gyms tested. Rated as BEST of the non-weight stack machines, but the progressive weight resistance may feel unnatural. Excellent range of motion. Some exercises require setup. As for categorical ratings...
A few other things to look out for (we recently moved and the house was pre-wired, but I have my own alarm guy): whether this was done intentionally or maliciously I don't know, but it seemed to coincidental to be an honest mistake The keypad was wired incorrectly There was a window contact...
Steve, while I can't offer you any guidance on the intricacies of DirecTV and Rear Projectors, I can tell you that I am extremely happy with my 34" Toshiba (CRT) HD 16:9 Cinema Series (34HDX82). My viewing distance is in the 14'-17' range. I paid approx $1,800 (all-in) last Feb. This may...
There's a couple of things that can be suggested, but msot of them don't go well with the college campus thems. Gun, no good, where is she going to keep it? also, in NY anyway they are illegal on school grounds, if it is a State University - forget it, it would never be allowed on campus. I...
This may sound like an odd approach, but since you will be insuring the ring anyway (you should). Ask your insurance company to recommend someone. My wife's mother had lost a ring years ago, and the guy that the insurance company sent to replace the ring has been our "private" jeweler ever...
This is true, but on a tight budget it can still work. If you find yourself in this position (inexpensive TV with only 1 set of video in/s-video jack) you can spend another $30 and get a 4 channel video switcher that will allow 4 more items to run thru the same single set of audio ins.
Another vote for Lexol. The natuzzi couch I got came with a "Guardsman" leather car package also. Seemed to work pretty well too, but not available in stores. I did have the chance to use the ink-lifter, stick that came with it for my car (light tan) leather once and it worked WONDERS.
Jeff, I looked at the Sony (it was my 1st choice), but it wouldn't fit into my entertainment center since Sony puts the speakers on the sides. I wound up going with the Toshiba 34" HDTV Cinema Series 34HDX82 model. I love this TV. Oddly enoughi I have an Infinity setup all around as well...
I read something about this type of thing being an e-mail scam of some sort too. I think they start out threatening to "blab" about some visits to porn sites on the web, and or phone sex calls, and then once you pay their "black-mail" fee they know you are an easy mark and start sending bigger...
mike, I was actually looking for the frames, but Home Depot didn't have them. It actually worked out better though, because I ran mine from the basement up. The boxes have the little tabs to clip the wire in place, so there isn't an extra 9' of speaker wire's extra weight pulling down on my...
Okay, now I see the problem...I think you can just get a set of y cables like Jeff G suggested to split the audio connections coming off the box. When you switch video inputs on the tv the audio will go out to both, but I don't think it'll cause any problem since it should be switched off...
Rob, I'm a little confused. I have a similar Tosh HDTV and Cablevision with the Scientific Atlanta Box (4200HD). I have a set of HDTV video outs (component video) with a set of HDTV audio outs. I also have a 5.1 coax digital out, and s-video outs with separate s-video audio outs. I'm not sure...
Some cable boxes have audio line outputs, as well as a 5.1 Coax output. If you are not using a cable box, then the answer again would be via the VCR. Use the VCR as your TV tuner and use the Audio outs from the VCR to the receiver.
The speakers are Infinity RS's, all around. Just looking at some of the really elaborate theaters some guys have set up gives me upgrade-itis, especially with 1000+sq ft of unfinished basement just "calling" me to do it. :D I'm afraid I'm going to start hearing voices soon "if you build it, they...
Michael, you'll have to use your VCR as a go between for everything. Use the composite video connections for all items (s-video won't down convert to these unfortunately). You will have to always turn your vcr on to view anything other than cable tv. You'll need to plug the composite video...
Here's my toys: my daily driver is 2003 Lexus GX 470 Blue Meridien Pearl (no pics) my fun car is my 2000 Lexus L-Tuned Platinum Series GS400 (in front of my old house) and here's my new house (during the NY December '03 blizzard)
I have Panamax Telemax 2 which I use for my Subwoofer that is not plugged onto the same circuit as the rest of my HT. The rest of my system is protected by a Panamax Max 1000+.
Digital outs won't always help either. I have a 5.1 out on mine, but they don't always broadcast 5.1. Only on advertised programs will you get a 5.1 feed out of them.
Ryan, I have, it is a much cleaner look IMHO over wires hanging directly out of the sheetrock. I used a set of Niles Audio gold-plated 5 way binding posts at my surround speaker exits. I used an "old work" plastic (ROMEX) single gang box in the wall to attach it to. I can email you a picture...
Tom, basically a reference point volume is the volume level you will most likely listen to your system at, it is different for different people, but it could be the volume knob at 12 o'clock, or at some pre-determined volume/attenuation number. My receiver counts up from -45 to +6, this is...
David, sorry yes Std is Standard definition. As far as HD recording goes NO you will not be able to record things broadcast in HD. Not sure about your area, but my cable provider has separate HD channels that will only transmit to the TV via the Component Video lines, the same program will...
Tom, I think it depends on where you set your reference point of your volume prior to set-up. If you set your reference volume too low and had to max out the independent speaker levels to get you to 75dB then I think that may be your issue. Same thing if you set it too high, you would be...
