    DTS Titles

I picked up Stargate the other day and was real surprised to to find it had a dts track on it too. Did not know about The Mummy Returns though, looks like i will be getting the R2 version instead :) Seems strange to me too but it is nice to have some unique titles over here for a change. I...

For people in R1 that like Stargate..

and If you have the capabilty of playing PAL disks you might wanna check out the New Release of Stargate (Directors Cut) on R2 DVD. This disk is 2.35 and is an anomorphic transfer as opposed to the non 16x9 R1 2.35 version. It also surprisingly includes a great DTS 5.1 track, DD 5.1 track and...

Nice DTS track on R2 Stargate.

Wow did not realize the R1 was not 16x9. Well in that case for those that live in R1 i can really reccomened getting this DVD not only for the 16x9 transfer but also the DTS track to, that is of course if you have the capability of playing PAL dvd's. I am running a 7ft image and really benefit...

Help: I need a multisystem, region-free portable DVD player...

I have a multiregion L75 and can confirm that the unit cannot output NTSC but only does PAL 60 for NTSC material. This is no problem for me as PAL 60 is fine running through my projector altough i cannot adjust the HUE of the image, which is not to much of an issue. The Unit is a fantastic...

What exactley does a 16x9 mode do on a 4x3 projector

My dvd is set up for 16x9 as i have a ws tv too. The projected picture does not look stretched at all, it looks perfect however i am wondering what the 16x9 mode does as my projector is not a true '16x9' one as those cost in excess of £3000/$4000. Maybe it zooms the image who knows?

Nice DTS track on R2 Stargate.

I think it is best i refer to a recent review of the R2 dvd in the latest home cinama choice as i am not the best at this sort of thing really as i am projecting a 7ft image of this dvd on one of sony's budget projectors, although the image is real nice IMO. Anyway they say 'On DVD (Stargate)...

What exactley does a 16x9 mode do on a 4x3 projector

I have one of Sony’s budget projectors (vpl-cx1) and was wondering what exactly the 16x9 mode does to the projected image. I know that 16x9 dvd’s appear larger however is the image just being stretched or am I viewing an image with increased resolution and thus benefiting from anomorphic dvd’s...

Nice DTS track on R2 Stargate.

Just picked up a copy of Stargate on R2 and was surprised to find it having a DTS 5.1 track included on it, together with a 5.1 DD english and german track. In addition I was even more pleasantly surprised to find that it included a 16x9 (2.35) transfer to boot. Is this a new transfer of this...

Question about the Sony VPL-CX1, need help pz

Could it be because i am running PAL that i cannot adjust hue and saturation thorugh the menus? Just a thought. Btw i have been following posts on the other forums about the Cx1 and they have been most helpful. I have decided to try the DIY screen you have that being the tile board (9x4)...

I am interested in purchasing this budget projector as the price seems right at the mo. However when i tried the unit in store with my Panasonic 75 portable dvd player through S-video I got kind of unpleasant greenish image. Is this problem inherant with these projectors. I could not adjust the...
