Excellent movie with a story line of a Mexican gangster and a young girl from Honduras traveling by train, riding on boxcars, to the US Border. Violent, very realistic and plays into what we are seeing now on our Southern borders. I purchased the Blu-ray several years ago maybe this is just a...
I purchased the Japanese version and it is the full length 173 minutes with very good video. It is the audio that presents the biggest problem which has always been the case. The Blu-ray is dubbed in English which is awful. I would much prefer the audio in the language spoken, English, French...
Excellent crime drama with Andy Garcia, Christopher Walken, Christopher LLoyd and Treat Williams. When a job Andy Garcia, Jimmy the Saint, accepts goes wrong he and his fellow crime members are marked for death by the mob boss. He has 48 hours to try to make matters right. Excellent transfer in...

One good feature the 4K players include is subtitle shift allowing you to move the subtitles to the bottom of the screen. (For the French Blu-rays with forced subtitles you can move the subtitles right off the screen) Panasonic allow you to change the subtitle luminance but not the color.
Rocco and His Brothers starring the great Alain Delon along with Claudia Carinale is avaliable from both Criterion and Eureka. Alain and Claudia both starred in The Leopard which was also directed by Luchino Visconti. Rocco is a story based on an Italian family moving from rural Italy to the...
Very good review I enjoyed the movie based on a bank job that goes wrong. The movie is esentially a 2 hour chase with zillions of vehicle wreckage. The shootout at the bank reminded me of Heat though not as thrilling. If you are looking for a movie with a simple plot and a lot of fast action...
Really enjoyed the first season of ROCCO SCHIVAONE a very popular detective series from Italy. Rocco is an off beat detective who smokes marijuana, is foulmouthed and is not afraid to break the law to catch a criminal. He has been transferred, for disciplinary reasons, to Acosta a small snowy...
Fabulous series ran for 5 seasons rated most popular crime series in Italy. Somewhat like the Sapronos a crime family dealing drugs that ends up being a major struggle between once friends, close like brothers, now bitter enemies. Genarro, Salvatore Esposito, and Ciro, Marco D'Amore fight to the...
I purchase movies and series on Blu-ray/DVD because I like to binge watch along with the freedom owning provides. As an example recently watched all 5 seasons of The Last Kingdom and will do the same next week when season 5 of Gomorrah is released. Before Covid I would buy 5 - 10 movies/series a...
As a train weaves it way up the artic circle two strangers meet that will change their lives forever. A simple love story with no murders or sex just two people a Finnish woman and a Russian man who share a compartment, Compartment No 6, on a train headed for the artic circle. I really enjoyed...
After to two excellent seasons ROME was cancelled not for lack of popularity, not sure why? I was really looking forward to what should have been a 5 season series with the 3rd season based on Jesus, Herod the Great, Pontious Pilot, John the Baptist, The Virgin Mary and the Roman occupation of...
There are many older movies I would love to have on Blu-ray such as
"At Play in the Fields of the Lord" shot in the Amazon with Tom Berenger, John Lithgow, Daryl Hanna, Adrian Quinn and Kathy bates.
"Raintree Count" with Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery Cliff and Eva Marie Saint.
"The Alamo" the...
Before Covid I purchased several Blu-ray movies from Amazon.de (Germany) and was very happy with their prices, product availability and shipping. Then with Covid they stopped shipping to USA. Since they began shipping to USA again I did check their site for Compartment No. 6. Unfortunately, so...
Yes just received the German release a week ago and I am very happy with the video/audio quality. A very big improvement when compared to the many DVD versions.
The Blur-ray is on back order and considering a Pal dvd is 576i versus NTSC 480i the Pal DVD may look decent. The dvd comes with both versions so maybe I will order the dvd for now.
