Jack, I've said my peace. I'll leave it up to the thread creator. I don't want to stifle opinion, but sometimes a little courtesy by others would be nice.
Jack, I agree. If you want to draw out those with negative feelings towards a particular Star Trek show, just create a thread about how you like said show. It happened in the Enterprise thread and it happened here. I for one would be happier if they just created their own "Mirror" thread.
Does anyone have trouble watching HD in Phoenix. When I watch it on 45-1, I get a letterbox version with bars on left and right as well. Are they not broadcasting in HD?
I haven't got that far myself. I just bought one of the new slim PS2s and it came with a disc that walked you through the network connection. It saves it to a memory card so that the games can use it. After that, I assume each game is different in how it connects.
Brian, It's funny you bring that up. I never thought it possible. But, yesterday I hooked the speaker straight to an old boom-box I had in the garage and sure-enough no sound. Shows you how much I know about speaker design. I wonder if I can replace the woofer (if you could call it that in a...
Typically your DSL provied won't know the difference between a computer connected or a router. In some cases, however, they look for what's called a MAC address.
One of my Take 2s in the Take 5 system has a bad crossover as nothing is getting to the woofer. The manual says it has a crossover point of 2.5khz, then it says Built-in High pass @ 90hz. Can anyone tell me where I can get such a crossover?
Wow! How did I miss this stuff. I download the Alexander clip today and was just blown away. I've been holding out to get a new video card with component output, but this may put me over the edge!
Erik, I've built many a PC over the years. What components did you use. You say it's tiny, did you use a Mini-ITX motherboard? I'm primarily interested in the audio side but would like to know what kind of quality you get on the video side.
I don't know if it's possible or not. I do know that I have many laserdiscs and have never seen it. I would doubt it as the player would have to change speed (or type of speed) in the middle of a side. I would think that would be difficult to do.
Does anyone know what the deal is with the Slayers DVDs on Ebay. I assume their fake. They seem to have all 3 seasons in one box with 3 disks each. When I rented from Netflix the first season had 4 disks. What gives?
I'm considering getting a new receiver and was thinking about getting one with component up-conversion so that I can switch my LD player through the receiver. I'm not sure I buy into any improvement in video but I'm worried about actually degrading the video. Any thoughts?
Robert, I use DirecTV on my 55 inch HDTV. The picture for the most part looks good. I haven't had Digital Cable before so it's hard to do a comparison. I do notice some compression artifacts on certain channels. I think (I can't verify it) that they are compressing certain channels more than...
I want to buy a backup for my failing Marantz LD player. Must play both sides and provide digital audio output (PCM and AC3-RF). Also, must include remote. Manual a plus.
This change has made a terrible mess to my RCA Ultimate TV Receiver. I can now no longer get 5 or 6 channels. 249, 300, 377 and a couple of others. DirecTV and RCA are working on the problem.
