Nothing wrong with using smilies as they available here. :) Yes, I am Jeff#. The old account was deactivated since I posted something I wasn't supposed to (a link to a certain site for old TV shows) but I learned my lesson. So now months later I created a new account and I'm starting...
As someone who is intelligent and months away from turning 40, I take offense to that typically rude comment of yours. As I've said many times before I respect the well-made shows that I've enjoyed watching for many years, whether they were produced in black & white or color. Yet watching the...
Well, at least you behaved yourself in the other topics you posted in today (so far). Here you are attacking me again. Let's try to keep it civil FULL-TIME, OK? :) Now to get to the heart of the matter, if 16 mm prints exist of "Bored She Hung Herself" then surely DVD format bootleg copies...
All of those were great shows due to strong writing and first-rate performances, yet they would have been even greater if they had the budget to film in color to begin with. I just don't agree with the " B & W is grittier " mantra. Yet a dramatic story well told and directed works well on...
I don't approve of color tinting either, but the producers had no choice as so little WWII footage was shot in color to begin with. Again it comes down to working within the limited budget that ABC gave them. That's the same reason the first 2 seasons were shot in B & W. It was not for artistic...
I want to know why ABC didn't save the 1970s version of Password? Game Show Network has the tapes of the 1960s original NBC Password (which they don't even air anymore) and the 1979-1982 Password Plus (from NBC), but the in-between series is impossible to find.
I didn't say that, Rick, although I think you just gave that spoiler away. All I said was that Kam Fong, who played Chin Ho left the show. Maybe we better not tell those who are new to this show anything else! I wasn't aware that Fong did a pilot for another series though.
It's buried deep in a box of DVDs in my closet, so I'm not going to check but that's a 3 DVD set as I recall. John Wayne was in one of the episodes, so he and Skelton did a Deadeye western sketch. By that time the series name was shortened to Red and it was late in the run -- probably the 1968...
The major flaw in that argument is that real life wasn't in black and white....unless you happen to be color blind. :) Combat and 12 O'Clock High were enjoyable in black and white, but they were made that way for budgetary reasons. Both series were further enhanced with the move to color film...
Not quite, Bob. MacArthur was there for the entire 11th season. He was smart to leave the show, because after that the writing went down the tubes (new writers killed it) and CBS was foolish to bring it back (with a mostly new Five-O team) for 19 more episodes in the 12th season. At least Jack...
You didn't have to make that a spoiler, Rick! In the classic CBS tradition of Chester (played by Dennis Weaver) in GUNSMOKE in late 1963, no explanation was ever given on the show why Danno left Five-O in 1979. And he was with the series for 11 of its 12 seasons. Actor James...
12 O'Clock High reruns were played on The History Channel for a long time last year! :) The mid 1960s TV series was based on the 1949 film starring Gregory Peck. The program takes place at an Army air base in WWII England. Most of the combat pilots are American personnel. The show's first...
