I liked this less than Mann’s film and feel Norton was miscast. It’s a good film but I also feel the added screen time for Lecter was padding to justify having Hopkins.
One of the concerns have I have with Blu-rays being made in Mexico has been their poor quality control. Wonder if that also applies to any disc rot as well?
I’d add a Harryhausen boxed set though the Blu-rays do look pretty good. Especially if they included the Sinbad trilogy in one set. Three films are a bargain. I realize it kind of violates the original posting though as it mentions one movie.
If the footage exisrs of The Keep before it was butchered by others, I’d love a deluxe edition with that, the theatrical cut and any alternate edits or even a reconstruction.
The poster was marketing and was created early in production. this is akin to criticizing Alien because there wasn’t an egg that cracked open with a light that came out. Its marketing. I enjoyed the film. It has a camp charm and the actors do a great job with their characters. Dwan was always...
Do we really need this? The first film is a classic and the second also very good. This sounds like a trilogy no one asked for (Even with Danny Boyle directing part 1 why not just keep it to a single film).
I had the poster as well. At the time, my only disappointments were 1) they didn’t use animation 2) there was only the snake and no dinosaurs. Dino did want to hire David Allen for doing some stop motion animation for dinosaurs but Allen signed with the Universal film (which got cancelled)...
