CRT, DLP, LCD, D-ILA-- Pros & Cons, for the record!!!

The latest Commercial Plasmas from Panasonic have improved the burn-in to the same level as CRT. "Newly developed phosphor boosts resistance to static-image burnin to the same level as CRT displays" http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp...el=TH-42PWD7UY

HOLLLLLLLLLY WOOFAGE! My Stryke AV-12 is HERE!

Brett, Unless there is something wrong with your specific Shiva driver then it must be how the measurements were done in your environment. If you are using an SPL meter, remember that moving the sub or the mike only a few inches can affect the SPL readings by a few DB, depending on the makeup...

HOLLLLLLLLLY WOOFAGE! My Stryke AV-12 is HERE!

Cam, I just found this thread and thought I'd jump in. The Shiva is actually 1.7db louder than the AV12 assuming the same wattage and similar box sizes. The 2.83V rating of 89.5db for the AV12 was done at Re. It's 4 ohms rating would be 88.5db compared to the shiva's 90.2db at the same 4 ohm...

What's next in the SVS line?

No, I don't think they will show pictures until after CES, which is from January 9-12. Judging only from the description it looks they are suggesting it will beat the Ultra in performance and include a finish similar to the SS series for about the same price as the Ultra. I guess we'll have to...

What's next in the SVS line?

It will be interesting to see how this new sonotube sub stacks up against the SVS subs for price/performance. http://www.adireaudio.com/home_audio...es/sadhara.htm

bk electronics 500w plate sub amp

Dan has just confirmed at the following link that they will be selling the DT300 amp from RCMAkustik. He also compared the DT300 to the BASH 500W , HS200 , and AVA250 / PE amps. http://www.harmonicdiscord.com/forum...pic.php?t=8604

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Well, Dan from Adire just posted a response at the following link explaining the differences between the DT300 and the HS200 , BASH , and AVA250 / PE amps. He also mentioned that they will only be bringing in the DT300, not the DT150 , and the price should come under the HS200...

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Allan, It looks like I found the answer to my question. Based of the DT300 PDF specs, if the bass boost is not used then you are able to select between bass cutoff frequencies of 18hz, 20hz or 23hz. Although it doesn't mention if these are center frequencies, -3db, or something else.

bk electronics 500w plate sub amp

Dan, I posted a similar question at the following site and got some good feedback. http://www.harmonicdiscord.com/forum...pic.php?t=8604 If you look under the classified adds (sub directory) at www.audioasylum.com you will see an add for the same amp from ArtofSound and the price is only...

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Allan, Do you know if the DT300 has some type of subsonic filter similar to the Hypex and the AVA250 amps. Or will this be added by Bob/Dan before it is sold to the consumer. Thanks Steve

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Allan, If you get to work with the DT300, post your findings here. I am thinking of getting a Hypex amp, but maybe the DT300 will fit the bill.

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Allan, Are you refering to the home plate amps that they are packaging with the bassexciter subs. The DT110 mkII and the DT300 are actually from RCM Akustik (the DT110 use to power the SVS subs). Lets hope they can start selling the DT300 in Canada/US. Here's a link to the DT300 plate amp...

Can I just "drop in" a subwoofer amp?

Justin, I have ordered electronics from the US in the past. You should budget $50 Cdn for duties, a little more than what you calculated. Also, you will pay PST & GST on the product from the US, but only GST on the order from BC. I presume you know how to add a subsonic filter to the PE...
