Just read that Kino-Lorber will be releasing Sergio Sollima's excellent spaghetti western, Faccia A Faccia, (Face To Face) with Gian Maria Volonte and Tomas Milian

That it was a Playstation 3 was not the issue. It normally plays everything perfectly. That I had the 4X3 setting wrong, my own fault, was the issue. :)
Thanks for the suggestion Smithbrad. That was the problem. I was using a Playstation 3, and the settings got screwed up. Now it looks right. I played it in my Phillips SD player and that looks right also. I'm an idiot, LOL.
I have a Vizio 50-inch HD TV. No CRT. I zoomed the image to fill the screen, but I suspect I'm still losing a bit of information of the top and bottom now.
I amended my original post as I originally believed there was an issue with the Shout Factory Danger Man DVD set. It's quite nice, looks great, and everyone should buy it if they don't have it.
Now that Andrew V. McLaglen has recently passed on, what are the chances of a release of his favorite film, the depression-era drama, Fool's Parade, (1970) which starred Jimmy Stewart, George Kennedy, Strother Martin, and Kurt Russell? It's a Columbia film, and it's had a few cable airings in...

Thanks for that list. Keeping up with the Kino announcements, but really disappointed to find so many of my MGM DVDs are non-anamorphic. I have way too many on that list. I'm really hoping Kino will slow down and make an attempt to get better prints from MGM. I was very disappointed in their...
I was very disappointed in the image quality. I found it to be too pinkish, and the soft sequences distracting. I agree, when the movie looks good, it looks very good. I'm recommending it to people with reservations. I like that it's finally anamorphic, and the sound is excellent.
My Phillips SD DVD player just died and it's time to get a replacement. I've had all-region DVD players for quite a few years now. I figured I might as well get a regio-free blu-ray player this time. I have a ton of R2 PAL discs I've accumulated.I'm on a tight budget and I'm looking at buying...
I'm working through my Get Smart box set and came across a defective disc in the season one set. I couldn't get my DVD, Blu-ray, or computer to play over a section on disc#4.
Does anyone know if HBO Video is willing to do disc replacement for this set?
Well, Bob. If you're seeing the miniseries for the first time I guess it wouldn't bother you. I did get a complaint through to WAC and I got a response;
(WAC) "There is a slight - but understandable! - misconception at the heart of your query. It's not a case of an original image being cropped...
A few people on have brought that up,
I watched the film on NBC when it originally aired in 1982 over two nights. I recorded the repeat airing onto VHS. I've seen the film a few times over the last thirty years since it first aired and I know it pretty well. This miniseries is something of a...
