Please keep in mind the ELT LRS and Cse's sound very different when compared in a 2-channel configuration. Neither really conforms to the "Rocket" sound, but of the two the Cse are much, much closer to it than the LRS.

The ELT LRS's are definitely not warm. They may be more neutral than the Axioms but I wouldn't classify them as 'warm' like I would some other speakers. On the other hand the ELT Cse's are definitely a step closer to 'warm'. I really hate using that term since it can imply so many things but...

I'm not positive but I'm relatively certain you can get the Fujitsu 42 inch HD PDP for less than the PIO, no? If that's the case It would certainly be on the top of my list. I've seen them both (although not in my home) and I thought the Fujitsu had similar color but with better black levels...

I'm not surprised you've encountered one of the "White Vans" - I've lived in 3 cities that are ~5000 miles apart and I've been approached by them in all three. It's one of the oldest scams around.
