If you check out the AVS forum there are a lot of people who purchased a Lava sub and are very happy. It appears they are a good internet direct subwoofer, along with SVS, Emotiva, ED, and HSU to name a few.
I'm not a big fan of posting dealer cost of anything on an internet forum. Just saying. I would never post our cost of anything. Leave that for PM's or phone calls.
My question to you is if your budget was for $50K, why did the CI spec the system shown? If that was the proposal from the start, why is the cost now an issue? Normally the system is approved of before prewire, equipment and all! That's how we do it. That way there is no "shocker" bill coming...
You can program them yourself.... I never said you couldn't. There's an extra step involved, but it can be done. If I had Harmony remotes at home I would throw them away as well. They are for the DIY'er who doesn't want/need/afford/justify an expensive universal controller. The MX-980 is a...
The MX-980 is our goto remote for theaters.... it is pricey though and if you don't want to pay someone to program it for you (it is a custom remote for custom installers) you must find a dealer that will share the programming software with you. It is they're call to share it or not because they...
Pull all three with an extra cat5 for control and also a 2" conduit or "smurf" tube as it's called. 50ft hdmi is no problem as long as you don't cheap out. Get a quality cable that is high speed. We do 35-50ft all the time with no issues so far. No boosters needed. We use Audio Quest Cinnamon...
We use the BD55 all the time...well not now since they are back ordered. But they are our goto BR players. Discrete codes for universal remotes (URC) and they work well. Not a fan of the P2500. Had difficulties controlling it and finding a full list of discrete codes. Other than that picture and...
If the cable company doesn't fix the ground problem soon enough. Just ground the cable splitter that the incoming coax is connected to. problem solved!
I would recommend HK when they update their rcvr's to support HDMI 1.3a or better. If that is not a concern, HK's do sound very good! Sound quality is what they are known for.
I personally would not buy anything Sony for audio... Anything from Onkyo, Yamaha, Pioneer, Denon in your price range would be better sounding than a Sony RCVR.
Yamaha audio quality is very good. We are a dealer and use them as much as possible. Have used Onkyo products, but prefer the sound of the Yamaha's. Onkyo is still good though. I'm the same way with Sony audio products.... not a fan.
I would stay away from Sony anything.... Other rcvr's to look at Yamah RX-V3800 or 1800 depending on price, any Pioneer Elite in your price range. Or go all out and get a Sunfire Amp and Processor. We had this setup in our theater in our old shop. Sunfire Theater Grand IV processor with the...
Wow, that's a lot. How many hrs/days did they say it would take them? I would think a day tops! Maybe 2nd for troubleshooting. Are they the only dealers around? I would call around for other quotes!
