i agree, there is absolutely no reason to downgrade your rears. i vote return the 804's for the 802's and go with either the velo dd 15 or an older hgs 18 or an svs pb2+ (or ultra) or b4+.

lol jeff, unfortunately, i don't think it works like that. i'm sure if i got regular complaints, management would have the right to kick me out. also don't forget that u have to LIVE next to these ppl. but yes, i agree, keep it down on weeknights after 10pm.

i don't understand why u would want to upgrade from an hgs18, but if u really want to, u would need atleast the pb2+. either way, i don't see a point in upgrading the hgs18 unless u r going up to the b4+

i have a pb2+ in an apt in nyc. keep in mind that i do not go crazy with it (although i did at my friend's place when i compared it to his). the sound proofing in my place isn't the best, and when i first got the sub, i played the depth charge scene from u571 pretty loud for my roomate, and...

my guess would try the speakers area. majority of ppl that own speakers own a tv and whatever else. just my guess. as far as my opinions, if this is for mostly ht, i think m&k is your best bet (their s-150 set up is great). me, i would skimp a little bit on the tv, as the rest is more important...

it sounds like something in the system is set wrong or something is messed up. with my pb2+ i have the gain set to 1/3rd and outlaw 950 set to -5.

brian, do not sell your sub unless u r going to buy a better one. for music IMO u don't need the sub, but for ht IMO u do need the sub. also if i were u, i would consider replacing your rear speakers. mixing bose with def tech is not that good of an idea IMO.

actually, your problem might me alot simpler than u think. when u start up the movie, it should start playing in dolby digital. in the menu screen (for the dvd - not the dvd player, and not the receiver), go to the sound options and change it to dts. once u do that, your receiver should...

john, u can buy rear stands for any speaker. also, i can understand that u want to use your discount, but u have to understand, by skipping the middle man, u r getting the same discount if not more. so u should try to set prices aside and figure out which u like best. i really think u should try...
