STAR!, AIRPORT, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. Also, THE MIRACLE. Not because I have any great love for it (perhaps the stupidest film ever made), but I've always wanted to see a great print in its Technirama aspect ratio and stereophonic sound.
"Wand'rin Star" is horribly "sung" (croaked) by Lee Marvin; but, surround his croaking with a superb men's chorale and outstanding orchestration, and you have a gem!
The show is a masterpiece of the Broadway stage. Easily L&L's greatest musical. The film, like so many other film versions of great Broadway shows, is just frustrating to me.
Not a worshiper at the altar of Audrey Hepburn, as most are, but I find this to be her truest acting on film, rather than getting by on just her undeniable screen presence.
