    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

Hey all,   SVS recommended to replace the amp which costs $170 shipped. I understand that SVS is charging the normal price because the bash amp from third party is also similarly priced but I can't shell out that much on an amp right now. I would get a three year warranty on the new amp...

    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

I finally was able to do the tests that SVS suggested. I swapped out the cable and connected it directly to dvd player and also to a WDTV Live player. In both cases, the sound did come from subwoofer but it was VERY low. I had my ear next to the sub to hear anything. I could feel the...

    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

Ah, I see your point and yes I suppose that's a possibility too.

    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

Thanks for the replies! I'm hoping they will too. Honored to see post from the owner!! HT system just doesn't sound the same without the sub. Robert_J, I didn't *just* get this sub so no it's not a shipping fault. I've had it enough for warranty to expire (by only few months) but I can...

    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

Thanks. I e-mailed their tech support. So we'll see what happens. Bad news is that I did confirm that subwoofer is not working as it should be. When I sent the test tones from my yamaha HTR-5790 receiver, I had to turn up the volume to MAX to see the subwoofer vibrate. I also confirmed...

    SVS PB-10 gone bad??

Hello, I was watching a movie (Incredibles ;) ) and noticed that the bass was clearly lacking. I checked to see if the light was on for the subwoofer and it was. Now, I've never had a subwoofer or speaker go bad on me and I still have to do some more tests tonight to confirm this. But is...

    Klipsch plan....

The combo that you have is pretty good. As suggested, I would ditch the sub and get an SVS. I own Klipsch's synergy series(F3s,C3,etc) but I own SVS PB10. They sound awesome with my yamaha 5790. My friend has the HK 635 and its absolutely amazing. crisp clear sound..no distortion. I have...

    Looking for sub suggestions....

Spend just few more dollars and get the PB10. I have it and I love it. It's a damn good sub for the price.

I need suggestions on a complete 5.1 setup

I would use the b&m stores for demo only. Not to purchase. Based on your needs I would say the following would be a good HT setup for you: 1. HK AVR-435 2. JBL E50 for fronts 3. JBL EC35 for center 4. JBL E30 for rears 5. SVS PB10 for Sub. You can listen to JBL speakers at Best...

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

The speaker wire that you are looking at is way too expensive. I spent 10 bucks for a 50 feet spool I think. The one that u selected are specifically meant for in-wall use. If ur gonna just leave the cables outside then I don't think u need that type of cable.

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

You use the Y splitter. its lot cheaper with employee discount. Also, for the speaker wire, I think I told u this in previous post to get the monster speaker wire just for the fronts and the subs. I don't think there is a noticeable improvement but for fronts and sub I wouldn't try to cheap out...

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

You can use both but then you have to worry about cancellation effect. Having two subs next to each wouldn't be a good idea unless may be stacked on top of each other. My friend is running two subs and he has subs next to his fronts on both sides. It does sound good so u might want to try that...

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

I never knew about the balance control feature. I'll have to look it up in the manual. Thanks Phil for this. I'll give it try today. Jeremy: Why are you getting the 5790 instead of 5890?

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

The meter and avia disc end up costing about (40+20)60 bucks. I know people here swear by using the meter(they might even ban me for saying this :) ) but to me I don't think it was worth the money. It might be different for u but personally I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. one...

    Klipsch Vs. JBL

I am sure that you'll definitely like the setup. When u do get everything connected, run the auto setup on that Yamaha receiver. It works really good. I usually use that and then change speaker level as needed using SPL meter. If you don't want to get a SPL meter, then at least run the auto...
