FYI: The information posted in this thread, has now made it into a TVShowsonDVD news item. Maybe there will be an increase in demand for season 1, when there is at least hope for more seasons again. I know quite a few people that would be interested in MTM on DVD, but not if there is only one...
I'd say definitely go with the regular version - the Gold Edition is waaay over-priced. The GE includes 3 discs: the regular CK 2-disc SE which you can get for under $20 and the HBO movie "RKO281" which is available for under $15 if you want it. Amazon even has a deal if you by both seperate...
I wonder what this different model is supposed to be. If it's Best ofs - I'm out of it and I guess many others that bought S1 would be too, Best ofs are just another target audience. If it means no extras from S3 and on (I guess there is no reason not to release S2 extras, when they are...
But why the f... is Columbia putting about 250 minutes of video on every disc? They KNOW video quality IS going to suffer. Why can't they just put 4 1hour-shows on every disc like all other studios do!?:frowning:  We know that the number of discs (especially in a multi-disc-set)...
@Lewis_W: But 4:3 is the OAR, so it should be 4:3 in Europe as well! Otherwise I will be trapped: Bad video on R1 and wrong AR on R2. :-/ Surprisingly the German release (and I think R2 in general) will be a 4-Disc-Set. So I hope picture quality will be better. But there are no final details...
Hi. Another wonderful review for a wonderful film, Ron.:emoji_thumbsup: Just wanted to let you all know DVDSoon is offering this package for CAD$22.98 or US$15.59. :)
"Bowling" will win the oscar, no doubt at all. It won just about any award it could win, it even got a WGA nom, that's extremely rare if not unprecedented for a documatary. Hollywood is very political at the moment, very unlikely they won't give the award to the film with the strongest political...
Concerning packaging: If I remember correctly it was also mentioned that coming "special" Special Editions would be packaged in fold-out Digipacks, just like Moulin Rouge! and Fight Club. I also hope they omit the SE- or CE- or LE-label on the cover, these "clean" covers (MR!+FC) are just beautiful.
Christian, I hoped it would be the way you described it. I did some research, but didn't find much on the technical issues other than the known info from the IMDb etc. I guess this whole issue would be easier to comprehend if Columbia would say what's going. Maybe DC was only protected for 16:9...
Damn, a 3 disc set. Season One has 13 Episodes, that means one disc will have to hold 5 eps = 218 minutes of material. I can see the artefacts already.:frowning: Also, there won't be much room for extras, except for a commentary maybe.
At least this set should be cheap. 3-disc-sets from...
