If concerned about jitter, the Monarchy DIP II is one of the best units around for the price, takes optical or coax input.
audioadvisor.com sells them, sometimes for $199. They list for $249 and come highly recommended.
I have one on the digital out of my DVD player, and have no need for a...
Got the older Bellogetti black metal 4 shelf rack. Racks are perforated for further cooling. Very strong rack, plus ventilation is a real plus for amps and super receivers.
Only drawback is the cable trough on the back support, it should have been about an inch bigger in area.
Excellent black...
As a 750 owner it has proven to be an excellent system for around $2200 (US) complete.
Careful speaker placement, and calibration has yielded excellent 2 ch. as well as home theaeter perfromance.
Again, I have not auditioned the Teatros myself, but did listen to several competing systems...
One of my favorite horror classics is the werewolf in London..to be released by Universal on DVD Tuesday (9/18).
I have it on my Netflix list, however when reading the description of the movie on more than one website it seems no one is sure if this movie has been processed for DD 5.1 or Dolby...
Look for deals on the Pioneer DV-C36 Elite. I would not recommend it for progressive video, because it does not have 3:2 pull down. Don't confuse it with the non-Elite Pioneer models, (503, etc.) as this one does share many circuits with the higher priced Elite models.
But for standard video...
A 5 disk changer works for me. It's a Pioneer Elite DV-C36 dvd changer.
It has a great picture, and I feed the digital output through a Monarchy II processor, the audio is very good for everything! I have no need to use the analog outputs.
It also has progressive video, but I can not take...
From a pure fidelity stand point in my opinion, I think the KLOSS table radio sounds better than the BOSE clock radio. From a fidelity perspective, not "room filling sound" (in Paul Harvey's words).
Listen to a vocalist and compare.
I was waiting anxiously for a B&K amp and it was Friday so I knew I was probably out of luck for the weekend.
Then came a knock on the door at 8:30PM!!! There was the amp!
OH, UPS can do no wrong!!!
Seriously, I have had few if any REAL problems with UPS. Nothing is perfect. I always liked...
Thanks for explaining about the powered vs. unpowered sub as having nothing to do with using the speakers output of the receiver to the sub.
Confused me for a second there, but by the second cup of java it all came into focus!
I almost always assume people have powered subs but I know that not...
Must be early for me, did not quite get the earphone analogy
however, that is the preferable way in most cases. Using the speaker connectiion will have the sub crossover limit the bass to your mains, so the subwoofer handles all the bass. The receiver or preamp has a built in crossover filter...
"....why do men let their wifes tell them what speakers they can and cannot buy? I am 28 years old and if I want some BIG ass speakers that totally mess up the decor then I will have them, it is MY money that I work every day for... "
Well, to her they are 'BIG ass speakers' not something...
Discrete output uses matched individual transistors on the output, versus an integrated module.
WARNING: Skip the NAD 925THX..I had one for 4 weeks before one channel went out. Never did get it fixed, after over 2mos. in the shop, dealer set me up with a B&K instead (3220). $300 more, for only...
