I work in a TV/Audio store and We have a few ED plasma beside HDTV plasmas.. and at 37-42 inches I/Most could not tell the diff from 6 feet or more away. It will display HDTV so you are Futureproof, You can slide in a HDMI card, So you are good to go there... and for the price unless you can see...
Talking to some Panasonic reps today, They said that the new plasmas such as the TH-42PWD7UY have almsot near CRT like burnin... And atleast in canada... if someone had a problem with burning they would swap em... I was quite impressed with that... I think I am going to get a TH-42PWD7UY...

Ok went again to a fiend who just picked one up aswell to do the Flicker adjustment... Blows away the picture in the store. Must been the screen and conditions...
we just got one in our Store in burlington. Dont have it going thru the Iscan yet but looks pretty good. Only thing I would say is it can look soft... thats the first thing I noticed...
