3D How the Studios, Theatre Owners, and TV Manufacturers All But Killed 3D

My perspective is this. I don't necessarily care if anyone produces another 3D film ever. As a film buff, I do, though, want the opportunity to see the host of films created in/for that format in the manner in which their creators intended; just as I want the ability to see "It's a Wonderful...

3D How the Studios, Theatre Owners, and TV Manufacturers All But Killed 3D

Say, after hearing how good "Inferno" is, and being frustrated about its unavailability here, I was just able to order a region-free copy through Amazon. It's from a seller in Scotland, and doesn't appear to be a bootleg as far as I can tell.

Yes, the ones given out at the theaters do work on home sets.

Dragonfly Squadron Contest: Win A Copy on Blu-Ray

I don't know that I can completely single one out, but I was pretty impressed by the 3D in "Oz, the Great and Powerful."

3D THANK YOU, TWILIGHT TIME, FOR A MAN IN THE DARK

When (note my optimism) "Kiss Me Kate" is issued in 3D, I hope they don't neglect to include the little introductory bit at the front of the second act (where the cast throws stuff at the audience) that was eliminated in flat versions, but which the 2006 3D fest was able to get WB to print and...

3D THANK YOU, TWILIGHT TIME, FOR A MAN IN THE DARK

My 3D want list (when I have to trim it down to a handful) consists of:Money From Home Kiss Me Kate Revenge of the Creature Hondo It Came From Outer Space

3D THANK YOU, TWILIGHT TIME, FOR A MAN IN THE DARK

By the way, in case anyone's interested, a few weeks ago I launched a Facebook page called Movie Poster of the Day. It's something I'd been doing on my personal page since the beginning of the year, but I decided to make it more accessible, so I moved the posts over to the new page. Every...

3D THANK YOU, TWILIGHT TIME, FOR A MAN IN THE DARK

Tina, I would at least put the disc in to make sure that it will play properly. I purchased a copy of MITD that would freeze up as soon as the 3D version started playing. I'd get about five notes of opening music on a black screen and then nothing. A replacement copy plays fine, though. You...

    3D 3D Conversion Wish List

I actually think Rollercoaster is the only one of the Sensurround releases that really stands on its own as a movie without the added audio effect, although I'd still love to be able to have a DVD or Blu-ray edition that replicates it. Earthquake is just laughably bad, Midway has too much soap...

    3D 3D Conversion Wish List

Earthquake would be another good choice. It's such an awful movie, it needs all the technological help it can get, which is why I wish Universal was issuing Sensurround editions of the four titles released in that format.

    3D 3D Conversion Wish List

I didn't know that the Star Wars conversions had been scrapped. That's too bad. If I had known, I probably would have put the first one (or fourth, depending on how you calibrate) on my top ten list.

    3D 3D Conversion Wish List

Agreed, but I like your choices. I was actually going to include War of the Worlds (1953) in my top 10, but then realized that I couldn't omit Jason and the Argonauts. Since we're fantasizing anyway, I almost included How the West Was Won, but then it hit me that 3D wouldn't really even be...

    3D 3D Conversion Wish List

Given the questionable future of 3D Blu-ray in general, it's probably a pointless exercise, but still maybe fun to contemplate a list of 2D titles that might be fun to see converted to 3D. I know the quality of such conversions has been a mixed bag, but assuming that results on par with...

Right. I see that now. I suppose wishful thinking skewed my reading of it the first time.

3D How the Studios, Theatre Owners, and TV Manufacturers All But Killed 3D

I just upgraded to 3D and have been very happy with it so far, though disappointed that more of the classic 3D movies haven't been released in the format. As for FROZEN, it's available from amazon.uk. I pre-ordered it for a pretty good price and got it last week. As for the high sales of the...
