no matter what media I put in there, it only outputs stereo sound!
I have it hooked to my receiver with toslink cable and dumped in some DVDs and none of them register as DD or DTS audio on my receiver.
am I missing something?

actually, got a really STOOOPID subwoofer from futureshop (canada) at boxing day for $100cad.
8" woofer with 80watts built in amp.
weighs aroun 15lb and sounds horrible... actually, I think it needs a little break in... cuz it's beginning to sound...
you can try those wierd shops that sell electronic parts. like transisters and led lights and those measuring devices of all sorts.
in Toronto, there are a few and some of them have the toslink cables for around $15 for 3ft. and $20 for 6ft.
funniest thing is, if you goto any department store displaying speakers with covers open, you'll probably see like half the tweeters are punched in.
yet it still plays.
for a TV at least...
I went and checked out what's new for RPTVs and the salesrep at bay bloor radio said there's a new 10" Sony GRAND WEGA coming out mid january.
They had a prototype of it on display last week (now it's somewhere in vancouver) and the CSR said it was almost as good as the...
wow... all this stuff is getting pretty complicated... especially that link to HTspot with the "ghosting and ringing" effects occuring on these projection TVs. To think you're paying like $5000 for a picture that's less perfect than a $1000 normal TV.
It's really making me rethink this...

I do like Mitsubishi video components... in fact, I'm a big mitsu fan when it comes to computer monitors... SIMPLY TOP NOTCH (and tres expensive)!!!

sony runs at 480p/1080i
from what I remember, don't progressive scan run at 480? would there be any difference with the 540?

buy yourself a cheap logitech usb mouse and voila.
these adaptors are hard to come by standalone... I have one sitting around and I know I could sell it for $30USD no problem. :)
