I own the MC-402, it was an upgrade from my MC-202 about one year ago. IMO, the MC-402 is overkill for your situation. Sure, it will make your speakers sound AMAZING! However, $5000 is no chump change, and you realize that you'd need to spend a lot more on source components, speakers, pre-amp...

In my main 5.1 system, I am currently using: Pre-amps Lexicon DC-1 V4 Sony TAP-9000ES Amps McIntosh MC-402 Anthem MCA-5 mkII I will probably replace the Lex/Sony pre-amp combo when something good comes along with Firewire/HDMI inputs for hi-rez.

I vote Hi-Def. You have a good TV, no reason to watch crummy standard TV. In fact, you many find regular TV looked better on your old set. Step up to the HD plate!

Wayde_R, Although I'm not 100% familiar with the PC software you mentioned, I don't believe it has HAVi capability. From www.mitsubishi-tv.com Dave, if you really want to to an HTPC, IMO, you should just buy a video card with DVI output, and connect to your 65813 in that manner.

Firewire can support 1080i easily. Your PC may not talk to your TV unless it has HAVi or other interface that the TV can recognize. The connection may be right, but the "language" might be all wrong.

Get a carpet nail snagged through a surround speaker wire? That will cause a short which will send the receiver into "Protect" mode.

Ricky, You've found one of the few flaws with the XP30/50 design. Forget about reading the display. I just set the dimmer to "Off" in the menu and it only lights up when powered on.

Pop the top and see what model loader you have in there.

Have you enabled both "progressive scan" output configutation options on your XP30?
