UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

Let me get this straight: All the other companies and studios that release wonderful restorations of films (and most of the times some unknown horror b-movies or something) are addressed to purists only? I didn't see anyone complaining then that they would love a degrained AI upscaled film..

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

I'm really confident that now that we saw the Cameron fiasco regarding the home cinema versions of his films, someone or some persons will newly scan original prints and make the definite versions WITH grain, like the "4KXX" Star Wars projects. It's just a matter of time. Nevertheless, I have...

We wouldn't have all these posts and arguments, if it wasn't a great movie! ;) Nobody would care.

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

Mr. Harris's quotes: "You're going to want a copy of this one." "Image – 10 (Dolby Vision)" "Highly Recommended" "Aliens to an absolutely gorgeous affair that should please every cinephile." "Image – 10 (HDR)" "Very Highly Recommended" What are these, if not applauding the releases? They're...

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

I dread the day when we will be 30 years from now (if we're alive), what we will see.. (Maybe his films as holograms? :D )

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

I totally agree with everything you said @Riddhi2023 . James Cameron may decide in the future, that he wants his Avatar people to look pink! It is his vision after all. Should he get high marks for that one, if it'd hypothetically happen?

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

I see. So from now on, i take it every score every release gets, is according to the director's intent. This was what i was trying to understand. As i said, the reasoning behind every score, not just these cameron AI degrained upscales. Edit: never mind. Mr Harris replied.

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

Fortunately for us that don't like this release, there are other options out there, like a scan of a 35mm film print. Or shouldn' t I mention that?

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

So, we' re trying to understand here what's the reasoning behind the perfect score. Or any other score for that matter. It's how faithful a Blu-ray/ UHD is to a director's vision?

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - True Lies -- in 4k UHD

I know this isn't the thread for it, but I just browsed a bit my newly purchased 4K Arrow release of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and it looks magnificent with wonderful grain, that isn't obtrusive.. If only these new Cameron releases looked like this. I would pay even $100 for each one. Oh...
