The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–Best Buy, this week, has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with their 4k/UHD copies of Pet Sematary (2019).  There is a $5 pricing premium for the packaging.  It is priced at $32.99.

–Best Buy also has EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK PACKAGING with its 4k/UHD copies of Westworld.  Amazingly, the promotional packaging edition is actually listed at $19.99–$2 LESS than the price of the standard release at BB.  Go figure.

  1. Thank you, Mike!

I have Transit on order with Amazon, which they originally had listed for June 25…but they emailed me an estimated delivery date of July 16, even though the release date is now listed as the 9th. So I'm not sure if I will get it this week or not. They've been really weird with this particular title. But it's so small that it's not one that would be stocked by stores around here. So keeping the order is probably still my best option to get it.

  2. Thanks for the prices, Mike.

Yes, there are some goodies this week including Peter Pan and Bronco Billy. Dead of Night, which I reviewed and which Mike linked, is a masterpiece that deserves attention.

  3. Bought the UK blu of 'Dead of Night' a couple of weeks before the US version was announced. Looks and sounds terrific. Doesn't have the commentary, but does include the excellent documentary. I'd like the commentary, but not enough to double-dip.

Can't wait for my copy of 'This Island Earth' on the 9th.

  4. Robert Crawford

This week, Target is having a 20% off Cartwheel offer for discs.

Thank you, Robert, and dang it! I looked yesterday morning and didn't see that.

I guess it's time to use my Red Card (5%), Cartwheel (20%) and Retail Me Not (5% cash back) on Winter Soldier and Civil War at the very least.

  5. So…on top of the Cartwheel 20% off at Target, "select" movies are also 20% off on top of that. I ordered everything online for in store pick up.

Winter Solider, Cinderella and Dumbo all took the 5% RedCard discount off first, followed by the Cartwheel 20% and then another 20% off on top of that. Final cost, pre-tax, for those three 4k's was $51.06. (I also got a Disney $50 gift card for $47.50 with the 5% off discount.)

And I got $6.70 cash back through Retail Me Not. Not a bad deal overall.

Where did that other 20% off come from? By the way, there really isn't a 5% RedCard discount on video as it's more like 4%.:)

  7. Using Cartwheel or the web, there is a second offer which is "Save 20% on select movies." No coupon is needed; it applies to your cart automatically. From what I can tell, it's every single movie. The fine print says Delivery Only, but I was able to get the 20% with In Store Pick Up.

So you had to go to Target and pick out the items there then go to through the register to get that extra 20% beyond the 20% cartwheel off?

I ordered via the website yesterday morning and they pulled the three movies for in store pick up just like a regular web order.

Yeah, when I do the same I don't see an extra 20% taken off. The final price is about 24% off.

  11. Robert Crawford

Yeah, when I do the same I don't see an extra 20% taken off.

I'm doing it again and I agree with you. I can get the 20% select movies to show up but Cartwheel won't apply.

This was the high level breakdown, including the GC:

    Subtotal

    $133.99
    Discounts

    -$35.42
    REDcard 5% Discount
    Save 20% on select movies
    Cartwheel 20% off
    Delivery

    free
    Tax

    $5.11
    Total
    $103.68

  12. Alrighty, I might have figured that out. I have all four Batman films in my cart for delivery. The Cartwheel 20% is there, along with my RedCard 5%.

If I add another item for in store pick up (Captain America), Cartwheel plus the extra 20% plus the 5% are there. This is a very strange way of running this coupon…I hope it works for someone else.

  13. For those interested, Amazon finally has the Blu-ray of Transit in stock now and, even though the official price is still $24.99, there is a discount automatically applied at checkout to save $4.60 on the order, bringing the price down to $20.39 before tax. So I just re-ordered it after cancelling the pre-order and will get it Sunday.

If you did pre-order it, I'm not sure the discount would have applied because the "official" price is still $24.99. So you might contact Amazon about that. It ended up being a good thing that I cancelled the advance order because if I had kept it and overpaid, I would have been really pissed off.
