The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

I dunno. You tell me...

Is there a new release this week for you? Slim pickings.

I think Peg and I will be picking up the new Downton movie. We are currently midway through re-watching the series. We didn't think much of the first movie, but others who also didn't like the first film seem to think that this one is more true to the tone of the series. So we'll give it a try.

How about you?

Probably just Downton for me, too at some point. Also the Kino nature-runs-amok films.

Absolutely. Everything Everywhere All At Once is one of the best and bracingly original movies of the year so far. I've had it on pre-order since Amazon first listed it and I'm really looking forward to seeing it again. The fact that it's only $14.96 is a nice bonus. I would have expected to pay more for a new release and probably would have.

If I could play 4K discs, I would think about an upgrade of Edge of Tomorrow. Since I can't, I'm fine with my existing Blu-ray from back in 2014. But I'm glad it is coming out for people who want it. It's weird to call a Tom Cruise movie underappreciated because he is of course one of the biggest movie stars around, but I think it was underappreciated when it first came out. But it has been great to see that movie find more of an audience on home video. It's great that WB thinks it will sell enough to justify the upgrade.

Thank you as always for your work, Mike! :)

Downton Abbey and Everything Everywhere All At Once. I picked up the blu-ray criterion version of The Virgin Suicides last July and I don't see a need to upgrade that movie to UHD.

Thanks for the prices Mike! OKJA 4K for me from the presumed B&N Criterion sale or Amazon if they have a better price. And Downton Abbey via some other sale. I understand it's on Peacock

if anyone wants to take a flier on it ...

I could be wrong, but my impression is that Universal's new releases are exclusive to the paid tier of Peacock, not the free one. So if you want to check out the new Downton Abbey there, you'd still have to pay for access. But certainly if anyone already subscribes to the paid version of Peacock anyway, that would be a way to check the movie out without additional cost.

I've never seen the show or the earlier movie, so it doesn't seem like this one is for me, which is fine.

I loved the first Downton Abbey film, so I'm looking forward to the new one, too. Nothing much else for me this week, however.

Thanks for the RoundUp!

Surprise! Everything Everywhere All At Once has a Wal-Mart exclusive release with alternate cover art.

I have had the regular edition pre-ordered with Amazon for a long time and it has already shipped. I didn't know this one existed until just now. It appears to be exclusive to the 4K+BD release and not available with the Blu-ray standalone, which is all that I need. So I'm just going to keep my existing order. But this is really creative as far as alternate artwork goes. I might have thought about getting it if I had known it existed before placing my order. But the standard artwork is good too, so I don't have any complaints about that.

I think this is the first retailer exclusive release from an A24 release (other than the deluxe editions that A24 self-distributes on their website.)

Anyone considering it should note that Amazon has raised their price on the standalone Blu-ray edition of Everything Everywhere All At Once to $19.96. I'm glad I got it for $14.96 earlier in the week.
