The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–The good news:  Best Buy has a flyer this Sunday.  The bad news:  Best Buy, this week, has nearly no useful pricing information on their new releases in said Sunday flyer.

–Best Buy will have Ghost in the Shell…”starting at $19.99 on Blu-ray.’  But no indication of prices on any other format.

–And, Best Buy has a price of $24.99 listed for The Boss Baby.  But that’s it.  Except that you can buy a Boss Baby lunchbox for $4.99 with the purchase of The Boss Baby or other select titles.  While supplies last.  Other titles shown:  Kung Fu Panda 2, Home.

–The following recent 4k releases are on sale this week at Best Buy for $17.99:  Resident Evil: Final Chapter, The Fifth Element, Leon the Professional, La La Land, Hacksaw Ridge, Patriot’s Day.

–The following Blu-ray releases are on sale this week at Best Buy:

$4.99:  47 Ronin, Neighbors, Ride Along, Dumb and Dumber To, Unbroken

$9.99:  Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, The LEGO Batman Movie, Tarzan (2016), CHIPs, Fist Fight, Sully, Live By Night, The Accountant. (There are more than thirty titles included in the $9.99 sale.)

$19.99:  The Fate of the Furious, John Wick 2, Kong: Skull Island

–Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

–SAVE 20% on ALL MOVIES this week at Target—using their Cartwheel app!  ALL movies.  No exceptions.

–Target this week has EXCLUSIVE PACKAGING *PLUS* BONUS CONTENT with its Blu-ray copies of Ghost in the Shell.  The ad says there is thirty minutes of bonus content.  It does NOT say if it is on a disc or digitally delivered.

–Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE “talking keychain” with six movie quotes with the purchase of Boss Baby on Blu-ray.

–And, Target has the following recent Blu-ray releases on sale this week:

$19.99:  Power Rangers (2017)

$22.99:  The Fate of the Furious

$24.99:  Kong: Skull Island

–Target Odds and Ends: A new release “Disney Junior” DVD called Minnie’s Happy Helpers for $12.99 (FWIW, not available on Amazon)

I loved Gifted in theaters and will definitely pick it up at some point, but I can wait until it drops to $9.99.

Ghost in the Shell will merit a rental at some point.

I was planning to wait on Ghost in the Shell when I saw the price, but that 20% off at Target will probably weaken my resolve.

Already have Boss Baby and Ghost in the Shell in 3D coming in the mail from Best Buy since it looks like neither their stores nor Target will have them in stock. Since Dreamworks shafted Trolls I'm glad they're putting out Boss Baby.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

There are some Fox titles that should be showing up this week, but I already have a handful of titles for the first week of August that I'll be working on starting tomorrow.

Don't you know it! I saved up for the Criterion/B&N, but I couldn't pass up the Warner Archives 4for$44 or the KL sales.
Why does saving money cost so much?

Thanks for the RoundUp, as always, Mike. You do a great service for us all.

Is the Warner Archive sale still ongoing? I didn't hear about that one.

Lost in America
& Billy Jack are coming to me via deepdiscount (as they don't charge me tax -- It's about the same as the B&N Criterion sale net price)

Not sure if I'll bite on anything this week. No new releases for sure...maybe something on sale? I did a few $5 movies from Target over the weekend (before the Cartwheel deal came out, naturally).

I had one of my rare opportunities to visit a Target a couple days ago. Disappointing to find no sales except the Cartwheel sale (which I don't have, not living near a store). I was going to download the app, but it seems like it wants access to a lot of personal info. And Target's regular prices are nothing to get excited about. Sigh.

At least the Best Buy next door had some good sales. Picked up The Accountant, Suicide Squad, Lego Batman, and Nocturnal Animals for $10 each.
