The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–No SPECIALS to report again this week, RoundUppers!

Here you go, RoundUppers!

Definitely a day (or two or three) late and a dollar short.

I was sidelined with Covid this week. It hit Peg and me both very hard. I think I might’ve slept more this week than been awake! :D

But, nevertheless, not a shabby week. Hope there’s something for you!

And, as always, thanks for all the likes (and overall support) year-round!

Thanks as always, Mike. I hope the fact that this got posted means you're well on the road to recovery!

I'll pick up the final season of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Blu-ray when the price drops below $20. I'll also probably pick up the first season of "Yellowjackets" on Blu at some point; I heard good things.

The 1951 adaptation of Native Son occupies such an odd place in film history. Shot in Argentina as a noir by a French filmmaker with the author of the original novel roped into playing the main character at the last minute when Canada Lee (who played Bigger on stage for Orson Welles's Broadway adaptation) couldn't get his visa sorted. The performances are all over the place. And then, when released stateside, all of the nuance is chopped out to turn it into a tawdry exploitation film that revels in scandalous connotations of interracial sex and murder, as the poster above makes clear. This was the first of three film adaptations, and all of them got the novel wrong in such interesting, different ways.

Thanks, Mike. Hope you and Peg feel better soon.

I see a poster for White Savage, but don't see it listed in the grid? EDIT: I see it's part of a collection.

Interesting that Lion of the Desert is from the producer of the Halloween franchise, Moustapha Akkad. I don't think I'd ever heard of this film.

Will also need the Bob's Burgers Movie at some point.

Best Buy has a retailer exclusive 4K Steelbook of The Bob’s Burgers Movie this week. 4K likely won’t make much of a difference on this title due to its minimal animation style, but per the press release you do get a Dolby Atmos track.

For those on the fence about The Bob’s Burgers Movie, it is currently streaming on HBO Max and Hulu.
