The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Hey RoundUppers!

I apologize for the lateness of this week's RoundUp. I don't think I've posted a RoundUp this late in years. What can I say? Things have been hectic at my house this past week. I'm not sure hectic is a strong enough word. But stuff happens.

This week: Quantity is up. The only release of interest to me is The Yearling. It's been pre-ordered for weeks. I'm intrigued by Senior Moments. I think I'll do some research on that one. If anyone here has any insights, I'm all ears.

Safe shopping!

Just added the links to those titles in this week's WRU that have been reviewed.

In my rush, I had flat-out forgotten them.

This would be a good time for me to remind everyone that if you use the Amazon links in the RoundUp to order your titles, it benefits the HTF. So thanks for any support in that way and, as always, thanks for stopping by and checking out our weekly thread! :thumbs-up-smiley:

Thank you for your work, Mike!

Best Buy is also listing the steelbook for Shrek, so it doesn't seem to be exclusive to Target.

A note for anyone who is interested in this release: I've seen some reviews mentioning new bonus content. But the bonus disc is actually pulled over from the Shrek Ultimate Collection released on Blu-ray in 2019. I know this because I own that release. So if you have that, the only benefit to this release is the 4K transfer. Of course, if you are 4K equipped, that alone might be a reason to upgrade. But there are no newly produced extras on this release. Because I don't have 4K capability, I'm happy with my current Blu-ray.

That being said, nothing for me this week. But next week is a big one, so that's fine.

I did something different a few weeks ago. I wanted Nomadland (which seemed it was going to be a problem to get from Amazon. So I ordered it from DeepDiscount. To get free shipping I added the new Warner Archive Blu-rays of Quick Change and Another Thin Man.

Nomadland arrived release week. I just checked and Quick Change is en route. But they are still showing nothing for Another Thin Man.

Is that sort of thing normal? I'm not hurting by the delay. That's for sure. I just hate having to keep track of it.

Another Thin Man is listed as BACKORDER currently on DD. So your order is probably still valid and open.

Unfortunately with DD, there isn't a way to know when stock will be replenished. Just like Amazon, they are at the mercy of Allied Vaughn when it comes to restocking inventory.

While poking around online, I found a (sort of) new release that isn't in the Roundup.

This week, Disney released a 2-pack featuring both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory.

I don't really know what the expected market for this release is since so many people already own these. Maybe Disney just thought it would be a way to move a few more discs off shelves for impulse buyers?

But if for some reason you still need them, it might be cheaper to pick up the 2-pack as opposed to the individual releases.

There is also a DVD-only variant, but it doesn't look like there is a 4K variant of the double pack, even though both films are available in 4K separately.

Because I have both of these films already, I don't have any reason to pick up the 2-pack, but I would guess that this is just a repackaging of the previously available discs.

Yeah, that's why I said it was "sort of" a new release. ;). Obviously there's no reason for anyone to get it if you already have the previous standalone editions. I'm a little surprised they didn't do a 2-pack 5 years ago in combination with the original release of Dory though.
