The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

The Specials

–I could not find a Best Buy Sunday flyer for this week anywhere.  So…no BB info in this week’s RoundUp.  Maybe it’s one of those odd weeks when BB just decides NOT to print a flyer.  Who knows?

–Best Buy’s Weekly Ad is available at THIS LINK.

–Get a FREE $5 Target eGiftCard @ Target this week when you buy A Bad Mom’s Christmas on Blu-ray.

–Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE STEELBOOK RELEASE of Batman: Gotham By Gaslight.  It doesn’t look like there’s any pricing premium to get the steelbook.

–Target has a bunch of catalog titles (Mostly DVD.  Some with a Valentine’s Day connection.) on sale this week:

Blu-ray:

$10.00:  Passengers

$12.99:  Fifty Shades Darker

DVD:

$4.00:  The Notebook

$4.50:  50 First Dates

Interesting assortment of tiles (new and old) out for release this week. It seems like a "something for everyone" kind of release week. Except there's nothing I've got on pre-order... :D

Safe shopping, RoundUppers!

Anyone else thinks this looks more like Jerry Van Dyke than LBJ?

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike. You got it up a few minutes before I could get the review for Along Came Jones posted. Casanova Brown will be up on Monday.

Gotham by Gaslight is coming on 4k, along with the Beauty and the Beast Legacy Collection CD. I'm not really thrilled at the price on the former, but it is what it is. For the first disc purchased in 2018, I can splurge a little...especially since I bought it with a gift card. The Friday the 13th set looks interesting, but we'll have to see what the old budget looks like.

We're coming into a big disc release time with a lot of Q4 2017 titles hitting the street. I'm looking forward to seeing *almost* all of them again. Thanks Mike!

A minor heads up: It only contains the first 8 movies that Paramount owns (the four New Line movies- Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X, Freddy Vs. Jason and the remake- aren't included). Since Paramount's distribution deal with Warners/New Line is over, I wouldn't expect to see a set of all 12 movies any time soon or maybe ever so this set is definitely a good option if you're looking to pick the F13 movies up. It's probably worth noting that the OOP set in the tin box now goes for $200 or $300 so this set is definitely a good alternative to that crazy price tag.

Thanks for your hard work Mike, week in and week out. I was disappointed to learn that there is no 4K UHD BR release of Only The Brave while streaming services like VUDU and iTunes have it available for sale. Is this a foretelling of UHD BR disc releases?

I think it's because the movie bombed at the box office. Box office receipts worldwide was 23M against a 38M budget. Also. even though Columbia/Sony distributed it, smaller production companies were involved in making this film.

Thanks Travis. I haven't looked, but I assume I can find the others for fairly cheap if I really get the urge. I still haven't watched the Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street sets I have...so this may be a worthless thing for me to track down right now.

There WAS a listing for a 4k release of Only the Brave on the release lists I use. But when I was putting the RoundUp together...no such product existed. So it looks like one WAS planned at one point.
