The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

  1. Wow! What a week for home video releases…after some other big titles in recent weeks!

Someone will always step up to the plate to prove me wrong, but I'd be surprised if this isn't a big week for many HTF members in terms of new content. Lots of great stuff coming out!

Have fun everyone! And, safe shopping!

And thanks for checking in each and every week! 😀

  2. Thank you, Mike!

The non-anamorphic DVD of Cats was the first DVD I ever bought back in 2001. I've been waiting for them to put that out on Blu-ray because the DVD looks like crap by today's home entertainment standards.

That being said, there's so much else coming out later this month that's more important to me that I feel like at this point, I've already waited so long that I can probably wait a little bit longer for it. If it were coming at a less crowded time of year it would be a release date purchase for me, but the following week has The Peanut Butter Falcon and the soundtrack for Frozen II. I'd rather have those right away.

So nothing for me this week, but Cats eventually.

So nothing for me this week,

    TravisR

Nothing for me this week but thanks for the prices, Mike! 🙂

    Matt Hough

it's an off week for me, too.

    Rodney

Nothing coming out this week for me,

    Scott Merryfield

Nothing interests me in the new releases this week.

Jeesh. It doesn't need to be unanimous, does it?!?

Well, I did say I would pick up Cats at some point too. Just saving for next week. There's a tiny little indie release then you might not be aware of called the Frozen II soundtrack, which is more important than any Blu this month. 😉

The in-store piece to this is likely too much for me to pass up… 🙁

The Online pricing can be extremely wonky … I found several $39.99 list price Criterion blu-rays for $22.99 …

The Online pricing can be extremely wonky … I found several $39.99 list price Criterion blu-rays for $22.99 …

True. On the 4k's I was looking for, the price was $29.99 no matter where I looked.

I did pick up Lion King 2019, Aladdin 2019 and Toy Story 4 last night. There were zero Pixar 4k's in the store (the catalogue titles which were released) when there were a healthy amount earlier in the week. I can't believe they all got sold…maybe they're being hoarded for tomorrow's Disney animated releases or Black Friday.

  7. So went back to a different Target last night looking for the catalogue Pixar's and the Disney animated films on 4k. They had…none. No Frozen, no Maleficent, no Cinderella, no Ratatouille, no Princess and the Frog, etc.

I ended up walking out with the OG Aladdin, Ant Man and Doctor Strange on UHD. At this point, I'm done with that sale and trying to hunt for things. I'll order through the Disney Movie Club (when the 60% off pops back around) or Target.com if I decide to take advantage anymore.

I can't tell if they just didn't put the stock out yet, if they were sold out because of the B2G1 sale or what. At any rate, it is what it is.

My copy of The Art of Racing in the Rain arrived today from Amazon

Good to know. Apparently the Amazon/Disney feud still hasn't yet affected Fox titles yet. I feel like it's only a mater of time until that happens, but if they got this to you, they must still be playing nice with Fox for now.

In a related note, I'm debating whether I want to pre-order Ad Astra (which is also Fox) from Amazon or whether I want to just get it at a store. Currently in checkout, it says they will notify you of a delivery date later, instead of promising the December 17 release date as the delivery date

This is happening a lot to me lately on pre-orders. Then I get (from [email protected]) the "One of your pre-ordered items is now eligible for release date delivery, and has been upgraded at no additional charge." 🙄

I fact, I just that notification for pre-orders on The Holly and the Ivy and Christmas in July. I had also received one for The Art of Racing in the Rain.

This is happening a lot to me lately on pre-orders.

Yeah. I'm used to that with products from other studios, but it's just the Disney of it all that has been causing me to pause on Ad Astra, but if you got Racing on time then I might just lock it in for now and see what happens.

For next week, the soundtrack to Frozen II (with a release date of Friday the 15th) currently has an estimated delivery date of Tuesday the 19th. I'm waiting for that one to be updated. (Although I don't want to listen to the soundtrack in advance of the film anyway, it's the principle of the matter.)
