The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Well…this week might not be up to last week’s standards, but there is still some interesting stuff on the docket.

Someone at Amazon again seems to be pushing a wrong button somewhere along the journey of listing disc titles for sales.

Target for the past couple weeks seems to be moving in a better direction in terms of competitive pricing.

And does anyone want to give me a nudge on Ratcatcher? It sure sounds interesting. And while I’m not a devotee of scary films, I’ll bite on occasion and the trailer to The Night House is the kind of thing that gets my attention. Any nudges there? :D

Safe shopping!

Thank you, Mike!

I've heard good things about the On Broadway documentary that Kino is releasing, but I'm not sure I want to make a blind purchase. If there Is a rental option available after its release, I would probably do that. Otherwise, nothing for me.

Just so people know the "Randolph Scott Collection" has been delayed once again until November 2nd.

I actually came across another today when browsing at Amazon. But when I clicked on the HD-DVD option, it just showed a pic of the blu-ray. Apparently someone must be working at Amazon that thinks those formats are the same/interchangeable.

One thing I don't think I've noticed about that Tropic Thunder clip (a comedy that is among my favorites of all time, along with Blazing Saddles and This is Spinal Tap) is that Jay Baruchel manages to squeeze in "hullabaloo" and "schism" in that diatribe about HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray.

Related to the RoundUp...I am going to have to drive a dozen miles to the 4th closest Best Buy to me because apparently no place near me has Silence of the Lambs 4K and Amazon's only available copies are a 3rd party reseller. It's weird because Best Buy had 2 listings for Silence 4K, a $27.99 and a $19.99. The more expensive one was OOS everywhere, and the $19.99 one was in stock but 12 miles away. Hope it isn't a misprint/mislabel and I didn't just buy a Blu-Ray lol

Thanks as always, Mike! I picked up Old on UHD as a blind buy.

I also picked up the first season of "Superman & Lois" on Blu-ray, which is a pretty terrific family drama about the struggles of rural America that happens to be interwoven into the comic book mythos of Superman. If "Smallville" was the prequel to a modern day "Adventures of Superman" that we never got, then this series is a sequel to the modern day "Adventures of Superman" that we never got.

For some reason, that title genuinely does have two UPCs, but I can't tell any difference between them in terms of content. 738329256784 is the UPC Best Buy is stocking in stores.

I canceled my Amazon pre-order of The Night House today after picking up a copy for $19.99 at Target (minus my 5% Target discount).

Amazon still hadn't even given me an expected delivery date...days after the film was released to the public. Screw them and their feud with the Mouse.
