I have been off-the-grid as far as keeping up with news about the restoration efforts.

Are you guys confident you can get all The Little Rascals shorts remastered in the future? Of course, these would include all the sound shorts.

Hi Ron,

The goal (an ambitious one considering the still on-going virus protocols in place at various archives, as well as the amount of work that has to go into them) is to scan and restore all 80 Hal Roach sound shorts this year. The better they sell, the quicker we can do the work and release them. We already have 31 of them scanned.

There are 6 volumes planned and an announcement on Volume 2 will likely happen this month.

We hope to move into the silents later this year and early next year.

Thanks for supporting the crowdfund campaign but it did not meet its goal and Indiegogo refunded all the pledges.

This release is also different than the crowdfund in that it has 11 shorts as opposed to the 22 we had hoped to put in the first volume.

To receive a copy, it needs to be purchased.

I have to say that I was a bit confused about a new post about pre-ordering, since I already pre-ordered from CF. Then I realized this was for pre-ordering at Amazon. d'oh.

thanks for posting that link, but... sorry, I pre-ordered this as soon as it went live on the CF website. This release needs that extra push, at the widest dissemination so that all 80 shorth can be properly restored and presented hopefully to and for a new generation.

I did have one question about that small change to the coverart, is the circle logo trademarked, and held by a separate entity, and that was the reason for the change ?

Hi Dana,

It had nothing to do with the circle logo being trademarked. It was just an aesthetic choice on my part.

In crafting the idea for these covers, I wanted to showcase the Our Gang kids in large, sharp photos making them front and center while keeping a bit of what has become to be branded as "The Little Rascals" circle logo. And even though I liked the look of the original cover, something didn't sit well with me on it.

After some thought, and from my perspective, the issue was that the circle logo took up entirely too much real estate on the cover, detracting from the beautiful shot of the boys. Designed this new way, the boys are much more the focus as the title is behind giving them dimension and making them seemingly pop out. It also is truly more like "cover art" than a "Blu-ray cover" and harkens back in some ways to movie magazine covers from the 30s/40s.

ALSO, an announcement on Volume 2 is likely before the end of the month.

Both are correct.

It's available to ship early (April 13th) if purchased at ClassicFlix, but won't be available wide retail until June 1st. However, due to delays, the April 13th date will likely be pushed back a bit. We'll know soon.
