UMe will release an updated version of The Best Of Bond…James Bond as a digital release on November 20th, and as 2 x CD and 3 x LP black vinyl compilations featuring the theme songs from the “longest-running” film franchise. There will also be a limited-edition gold vinyl set available only from uDiscover Music and Sound of Vinyl. The selection will also include “James Bond Theme” by The John Barry Orchestra, and Dame Shirley Bassey singing the Top 10 hit “Goldfinger”, “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Moonraker”. Bassey made her Oscars debut at the 85th Academy Awards with a performance of “Goldfinger”. Other iconic songs on the release feature Louis Armstrong’s “We Have All The Time In The World” from OHMSS, Nancy Sinatra’s “You Only Live Twice”, Lulu’s “The Man With The Golden Gun”, and Paul McCartney & Wings performing “Live And Let Die”. The title track to Roger Moore’s first Bond outing was written by Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney and produced by former Beatles producer George Martin, and also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The 26-track song list would not be complete without Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better” from The Spy Who Loved Me, Tina Turner’s “GoldenEye”, Duran Duran’s “A View To A Kill”, Garbage’s “The World Is Not Enough”, Tom Jones’s “Thunderball” and Matt Monro’s “From Russia with Love”.
The set can be preordered here. The 25th James Bond film No Time To Die will be released globally on November 12 in the UK through Universal Pictures International and in the US on November 20 from MGM via its United Artists Releasing banner.
