Emergency
Would it be treated the same on Blu as it has been on DVD?

How so?
Insofar as picture quality is concerned.

That's not a concern thanks to the post-fire restoration Universal undertook.
Just like what we've seen with other Universal shows on Blu-Ray like The Rockford Files and this upcoming A-Team release, it's their modern HD transfers that are drawn upon for these rather than ancient SD videotape transfers from the dawn of cable television.

Are you saying then that the fourth-season and fifth-season episodes, which looked far less than perfect on DVD, will look better on Blu?

Indeed I am. They will look the best you've ever seen them, by a wide margin.
The remastering program caught up with the DVD releases in time to be utilized for season 6 and the post series movies. Just picture those two DVD releases in high-definition and that's how the entire series would appear on Blu-Ray.
I can't find any screencaps of the remaster, but it looks great. Emergency! appears to be airing on a channel called FETV if you have that available and want to check it out. Presumably they utilize these transfers (MeTV did before the show left their network a few years back).

That's what I wanted to know! I take it then that also those third-season episodes that were less than perfect (like "An English Visitor," one of my favorites overall of Emergency!) will also look stunning on Blu.

I can confirm that Emergency! looks pretty sharp on FETV. But I'm not sure that Roy DeSoto's hair was designed for HD.Indeed I am. They will look the best you've ever seen them, by a wide margin.

You're also possibly in for a surprise like I was, unless you saw these when they originally aired. There's an introduction for Emergency! that was missing entirely from the old videotape transfers that were used for syndication until a few years ago (As well as for seasons 1-5 on DVD). For whatever reason it was excised and replaced with the incorrect opening for that season when the videotape transfers were created 40 or so years ago.
Was quite a surprise for me to turn to Emergency! on MeTV one afternoon a few years back, a show that I'm quite familiar with, and discover a variant of the opening that sounded a lot different than any that I was familiar with from the 1980's era transfers on TVLand back in the 1990's and then the DVD's.

I noticed that on those third-season episodes, and all the fourth- and fifth-season episodes (with that one fourth-season finale exception "905-WILD"); I didn't worry much about it though (it wasn't top of mind) simply because I was enjoying the show to begin with (Emergency! is now one of my favorite shows), and as I've said before, if the show's good, as this is, the play's the thing (other shows I've thought this about are of course M Squad, and another favorite that others have raved about but I've never seen, Mr. Novak).

Thanks for those updated. I only had the first three years but stopped getting them because of the replaced opening credits music. The DVDs had the faster paced Nelson Riddle theme replaced with character dialog (checking in with Rampart) with a low, suspenseful underscore in later seasons. Any word on if that had been fixed? Those are all fixed.

The FETV rerun I just sampled (a fifth-season one) had a variation of the music of the early seasons (the Riddle theme) over cleaned-up syndication titles, from what I've seen.

I have a copy of the video on my Facebook profile from 2011. It has the version of the theme but I really want them to put back on the DVDs. If I can find a way to download it, I'll share it.

Oooo, very tempted to pick this one up. When I've caught this one on reruns, it's held up well as being entertaining.

Emergency!, you mean?
I also love it when a plan comes together and will be adding this to my purchase list.
