Apparently I'm the first one to admit to pre-ordering this.

Lots of us will be buying it. There are probably PG-rated films from the 70's that show more skin than these. I expect they will be very Russ Meyer-like.

  2. You know, I like to support classic 3D releases, and have found myself descending into schlock with “September Storm”, “Jivaro”, “The Maze”, “Gog” etc. etc. , but this is too far for me! I will not be ordering “Nudie Cuties”! :3dglasses:

Hooray! One more copy that someone that wants to support 3D can buy! :3dglasses:

Well, I can't speak for Nudie Cuties, but if September Storm, Jivaro, The Maze and Gog are schlock…then give me more of that delicious schlock!

  5. I had the privilege of designing this cover for Kino Lorber. Funny… I’ve been an HTF member since high school and now I get to design the occasional Blu-Ray release! 😄

There wasn’t much to work with on this one though I managed to pull off a more complex solution that the producers liked but was too minimalist. They went with this cover instead.

At the end of the month, I’ll be posting process posts on my website both for this and Tamango, the other Kino title I designed (though that one mainly involved repurposing the original key art).

  7. I noticed on the cover that "The Bellboy and The Playgirls" has given a credit to Francis Ford Coppola for directing the 3D sequences.
If that's the case, then I'm going to wait for the hopeful future releases of:
"The Bellboy and The Playgirl: Redux" and "The Bellboy and The Playgirl: Final Cut".

Would you please post a review on Amazon when you have seen this release? Some maroon gave it a 1 star review (based on not seeing it) so we can use some positive feedback.

    Thank you!

I'll go leave a comment. Amazon has been terrible about removing stuff that should obviously removed and they have made it next to impossible to report and give the REASON.

  9. I got this the other night and gave it a spin. The star feature of this disc is Adam and the Six Eves and makes the purchase worth it just for that alone. Really great 3D. The short films are also quite interesting. The figure study is basically a view master on screen.

Quite disappointing is the "main" feature, The Bellboy and the Playgirls. There is virtually no 3D at all. In fact, you can watch the 3D without glasses with no trouble. I'm not sure if this was intentional or some kind of authoring error. Will give it another spin this weekend and see it I can make it through the entire feature.

  10. I read this on another site which apparently addresses my confusion regarding the 3D in Bellboy…

"Regarding Nutie Cuties, nothing has been converted, it is all native 3-D material. The Coppola color 3-D footage in "Bellboys and the Playgirls" amounts to a few minutes only – it was spliced into a German black and white flat/2-D film made a few years earlier."

Can any light be shed on this? I did not watch the whole movie, only the first 5 chapters so I probably didn't get to the 3D part. In reality, it's no a big deal as the Adam feature is worth the price of admission alone (brings new definition to the word "pokies") but I am curious.

  11. Thanks!

We have some projection instruction documents which did not make it onto the disc in time. I was hoping the text on the back cover would have made it clear that the 3-D footage is only the final segment of the film.

I'll scan those projection notes and post on our website.
