It was a bit strange while watching my review copy of MST3K Vol 23, and seeing footage from this film at the beginning of The Castle of Fu Manchu. To try and hide the fact that A Night To Remember was a black and white film, the producers tinted the footage deep blue.

Why is there only a DVD review when the Blu-ray has been released? If Alvin and the Chipmunks can be reviewed as a Blu, why not a real piece of art?

Here here. I don't know why HTF even bothers reviewing the DVDs. Whenever something new comes out simultaneously on Blu-ray and DVD, it's the same transfer where the DVD is basically just a down-rezzed version of the Blu-ray, so it really doesn't need a separate review.

The PR firm which sends us Criterion discs for review sent the DVD rather than the Blu-ray. Repeated requests for the Blu-ray did not produce one, so I reviewed what they sent. Simple as that.
