If that's "a little steep" I hesitate to imagine what "freaking absurd" would be.

Just shy of $15,000 for a new processor and 12 channels of discrete amplification. That's ... actually rather expensive compared to other Atmos solutions like say a Marantz 7703 processor ($2200) and the Marantz 7 ($2400) and 5 channel ($1200) amps: $5800.

I don't know if the price premium is for 16 channels of processing, e.g. 11.2.5 atmos?
