Ann Reinking died in 2020. Surprised she would be included in a new commentary . I wonder when it was recorded.

Music removal instead of music replacement on the FHTE miniseries. Is that the new way to deal with music that couldn't be licensed for home video.

I didn't think I would, but reading the press release and watching the youtube video convinced me to buy this set. Good job of promotion, Sony.

Probably prior to the pandemic. These releases are prepared well in advance so Annie was ready to be included in the first volume released in 2020, but didn't make the cut for that particular boxset nor Volume 2 in 2021.

Our resident June Allyson fan will have to buy this box-set just to have You Can't Run Away From It in high definition. I wouldn't mind adding the title to my collection but not at that price.

i still use blu-ray 1080p discs for my sdr projector.

why can't sony add the atmos tracks into the 1080p blu-rays? i've seen paramount/wb/lionsgate starting to do that more for their 4k+bd releases where available both catalog and new releases.

i get it, you want everyone to be 4k across the board. i just dont see me going to any HDR solution anytime soon on projector front.

Major kudos to Sony on the wealth of new worthwhile features, hopefully regular Blu releases for these titles will get a released at a later date.

That GIF reminded me that we need to get Disney to release Silent Movie as a stand-alone Blu-ray as well as get their rest of Mel Brooks’ oeuvre at Fox out on digital.

I have the first two Volumes, but will probably skip this one. I have a little interest in some of those films, but not enough in the collection as a whole to warrant spending the money on it. Very happy for those of you who are excited about it though!

Figure to pick this up for $80-90 like the 1st two sets. Seems to be a pretty reasonable price for 6 4K/+BD, 6 digitals and a decent little book -- I actually even like the case, but the included slipcovers make displaying them on a regular shelf easy enough on the eyes. It's not even a bad price for 4, much better IF you offload the items you don't want to people who do.

They used to, but no longer do. They have made a decision to reserve Atmos tracks on physical media for their 4K UHD discs.

I don't think any of the films in volume 2 have been released individually yet. Perhaps some will be this fall after volume 3 comes out.

For volume 1 individual 4K:
Lawrence of Arabia (steelbook) Seems sold out and only available from 3rd parties at high price.

Gandhi UK Import only?

Dr. Strangelove

Not released individually:
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
A League of Their Own
Jerry Maguire

So those waiting for the ones they want in 4k may have a long wait.

Music removal instead of music replacement on the FHTE miniseries. Is that the new way to deal with music that couldn't be licensed for home video.

It certainly is an interesting way to put it. I noticed that the same note is applied to the TV pilot for FHTE. I imagine it's the same piece of music in both cases.

It's funny that when I got to To Sir with Love, and they mentioned the TV pilot as an extra, I thought, "What?! Not To Sir with Love II with Poitier reprising the role?! And then seeing that that is included as well.

It's nice that they're including both the Theatrical Cut and Director's Cut of The Last Picture Show on the UHD, though only the DC on the Blu-ray.

It’s worth checking both eBay and the HTF classifieds to see who is breaking up the sets to sell for pieces. I only wanted “Anatomy of a Murder” from the previous volume and found a reasonable offer just for just that title within the set - about the same as it would have cost as an individual release. I got only what I wanted and it didn’t break the bank.
