Sony launches “powerful” X-series speaker for parties and TV audio

Sony has launched a new Bluetooth party and TV audio speaker, the SRS-XV900 ($899, available for preorder now). According to Sony, this is the “most powerful and loudest” speaker in its wireless speaker X-series range. The portable device includes a three-way sound system with omnidirectional audio, programmable mood lighting, built-in wheels and a 25-hour battery life.

The XV900 fast charges for three hours of playing time from a 10-minute zap, and there is also a protection against overcharging. A TV ‘Sound Booster’ function promises enhanced audio when watching TV and an optical cable is provided to take advantage of this setting with all TVs. A microphone and guitar connection, combined with the Fiestable mobile app, means you can use the speaker as an amp for a versatile karaoke mode. Both Music Center and Fiestable apps enable playlist selection, next song cueing, light pattern changes and sound mode selection, as well as numerous karaoke functions.

The onboard ‘MEGA BASS’ feature allows a bass dial-up and the ‘LIVE SOUND’ mode provides a live sound atmosphere. Up to 100 Sony Bluetooth speakers can be synchronized with both sound and lighting if the party extends to a larger space or different rooms. Phone charging is available via USB on the device.

Sony says it is committed to recycling and sustainability “from product design stage forward”, the protocols for which are outlined in the company’s Road To Zero initiative. The company hopes to achieve a zero environmental footprint through recycling. The SRS-XV900 can be ordered from Best Buy, Amazon and other dealers. For more information, click here.
