3,800 sports fans from across the US have have been asked to vote for their favorite 20 sports films, revealing “the best ones” to watch while in lockdown. The research has been compiled by LiveRugbyTickets.co.uk who says that we’re all missing the familiarity of regular sports games and shows on our TVs, so we’re turning to movies to get our fix. Some of the winning top 20 titles an be found on Disney+, according to the sponsors, but there appear to be some glaring omissions on the final list below.
According to the survey Space Jam, the nostalgic poke at the events between Michael Jordan’s initial retirement and comeback two years later, was chosen by respondents with 90% selecting it as a top 20 contender, and therefore takes the top spot. In second place is The Blind Side with 88%, followed by the Rocky franchise, Raging Bull and The Mighty Ducks franchise, chosen by 87%, 85% and 81% of respondents, respectively.
