Monolith by Monoprice has announced the arrival of two new in-wall THX Certified home theater speakers, both available now direct from monoprice.com. The THX‑275IW (THX Select, pictured in header) and the THX-465IW (THX Ultra) are designed for smaller and larger rooms, respectively, and are priced at $349.99 and $699.99.

“Whether it’s for a full-featured home theater room, or an apartment living room, we have Monolith speakers that are sure to provide an optimal home cinema listening experience in rooms of all sizes,” said Hobie Sechrest, Monolith Business Unit Manager, Monoprice.

The new in-walls have been engineered to ensure every seat in the room receives “the best possible” audio experience, according to Monoprice. The smaller THX-275IW includes a high-excursion 6.5-inch woofer, 50mm silk dome midrange driver and 25mm silk dome tweeter. The THX-465IW adds three more high-excursion 6.5-inch woofers for a total of four, with the midrange driver operating in the 750Hz to 3.4kHz range to ensure flat response, minimal distortion, and a higher SPL. Both speakers use fourth order Linkwitz-Riley crossover network acoustic filters reducing distortion and minimizing off axis response errors near the crossover frequency.

Steve Martz, global head of THX Certification, THX Ltd. stated, “These new Monolith in-wall speakers follow suit and meet the strict THX performance and listening standards, giving customers even more excellent speaker options to consider for their living rooms and home theaters.”

Dog ear mounting systems and paintable magnetic grilles ease installation of both speaker options. All the Monoprice THX timbre-matched in-wall and in-room speakers use the same drivers and crossover components for mixing and matching in any environment. The speakers come with a three-year warranty and 30-day no-questions-asked money back guarantee.
